Got confirmation today that wife has just got citizenship so end of what seems like long journey - email sent to me with letter as I suspect request to MP for assistance getting information was sent by me at the six month point.

Got married in June 18 on marriage visit visa and then had to go back to philippines to do spouse visa.

She arrived in UK on spouse visa with two step children in Feb 19. Got EU pre settled status in Oct 20. Settled status in July 23 and then 6 months waiting for outcome of citizenship application.

Two step children adoptions (so kids went straight to british citizenship) along the way and everyone nearly has citizenship - wife has to do the ceremony still but that is hopefully not a hugh effort and then organise a swearing of oath of allegiance at local philippines embassy.

Feels like a long trip and learnt a lot along the way from the first marriage visit visa application back in 2017. One key point is that when Home Office fail then think worth getting MP involved and asking them to write as seems to help - we patiently waited until the 6 month point before asking MP getting response, raising complaints and doing a subject access request - that was interesting in itself.

All the best to everyone on the trip. Get there in the end just takes a while.

My wife received her certificate for British Citizenship after a ceremony in Warwickshire some years ago.
It was a short ceremony as there were more people to complete theirs.

We applied for her British passport straight away.
This was the end my spending for her journey from shy province girl to British woman (but she still says she is Filipino). :D
It was an expensive process. o_O
