Like you I am fascinated by ducklings but my wife takes the p!ss out of me if I try and take any photos of them.

Where I work, there is a small duck pond next to us, within the grounds. And a river passing by. Every year there are groups of ducklings around. I sometimes have to wait for them to pass me by as I walk to work. I have tried to take some photos but they dont let me close enough....:D I get quite close but never quite close enough.

And my smartphone doesn't have a zoom lense.

I see a lot of detail in your photo!

A Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens helps a lot, John :)

Taken last year with iPhone4. Had to crop it and blow it up a little as they were too far away. They dont hang around! This year there were similar batches with mixes of colour including two classic yellow in a batch of browner ducklings.

Another picture taken with my iPhone4 a good while ago. This chap is the carpark attendant at work. I say is as he seems to have dissappeared after a long active service. The backdrop isn't too interesting, but that's carparks for ya and that was his home.

Canada Geese taken in March at Billing Aquadrome, John.
They are everywhere there, as well as geese poo!
