Hello all, Just need to find out how long the DFA take to process the annulment documents ready to apply for the visa. (Red ribbon) Had a bit of an upset on the visa front ,the court managed to put the wrong date of her marriage on the documents and it was thrown out by the NSO. So we have to go through it again, ho hum. Regards Rob
Sorry to hear about your bit of bad luck. I will ask the missus when she gets home about the DFA timeline (red ribbon document), post again if I forget to ask her
Department of Foreign Affairs (Philippines Foreign Office). Unlike the UK where Theresa May ran a long and successful campaign to get Passports and Legalisations moved from the Foreign Office to the Home Office, in the Philippines these functions remain with the DFA. My experience of the DFA has been good, This is one of those "how long is a piece of string" things.
I remember that my wife had to go to the Supreme Court after the annulment to get a specimen signature of the person who issued the certified true copy of the annulment, Regional Trial Court where she got the certified true copy. DFA for authentication (red ribbon document). NSO where she requested a copy of annotated Marriage Certificate and CEMAR (Registry of marriages; corresponds to CENOMAR if you have not been married before). Note that the above is not in any particular order, the order is below; 1. NSO 2. Regional Trial Court 3. Supreme Court 4. DFA The above may have been over the top (and maybe not a requirement) but it worked. Note that when we were married in the UK it took a couple of weeks longer than usual to give notice of marriage as the Registry Office wanted to send the loved ones annulment documents to their Head Office for closer inspection, so just be aware
Thank you very much for the info, hopefully this will be concluded very soon, it seems like a lifetime since she started the whole process.
tell me about it. my ( now ) wife went to court 3 months running--only to find the judge wasnt there. her " 6 to 9 " month annulment took 15 months all told. i guess i didnt spread enough grease around. you would think that country would get its ass in gear about all this annulment balony---its just a divorce --after all--for those that can afford it. how many annulled ex wives then go on to marry a foreigner ? then what happens ? half my wifes income goes back to the philippines.
