Guys just looking at the FLR(M) application. Dependent children are only those that would have been brought over from the Philippines, usually in (though not always) the original spousal / fiancée application, correct? British children where either sponsor or applicant are the parents aren't part of the financial criteria, correct? Although it does require you to list dependent children in section 4, those children are not required in section 7A if British?

We asked the same question. Yes. They want to know about those who arent British. We actually loaded up our ILR application with detail on our British born daughter but only to try to add weight to keeping the mother ( the wife ) here in Britain.

It could be argued it is superflous but my gut feeling is that they would be very unlikely to refuse ILR or FLR to a Filipino mother of a British born child. Unofficially, I believe it is true.

    I agree.
But I also hold out hope for common sense as to send a Filipina mother home in such a situation would be socially and economically unadvisable. The burden on the child and father might easily end up with the state and they wouldnt want that.

I saw on the programme UK Border force, where they said they won't even deport an illegal immigrant if they have a British born child.

What about the mother of a child that is a British Citizen but the child was born abroad?

That would be interesting to me.
