CFO is not required when I get to Heathrow does it? CFO is only required in PH airport so I can leave the country? But if Im flying to Bangkok as tourist and then from Bangkok I will book flight to London, then there shouldn't be any problem when I get to London??

The CFO sticker is not required by the British authorities but is required almost always by the Philippine authorities. Without a CFO sticker in your Passport, you place yourself at risk of being prevented from boarding any international flight by Immigration Officers. You have waited this long to be reunited with your loved-one, are you prepared to risk being refused and having to rebook with the probable cost of a new ticket, for the sake of a two week delay?

Hi @lisa .. I understand your loved one will be wanting you to celebrate Christmas with him. Yes, you're right. UK Immigration won't check it once you're in Heathrow. However, CFO sticker will be checked on your passport upon departure from the Philippines. Though you're travelling as tourist in Thailand, PH Immigration will still see that you have a visa and will require you to obtain one (CFO sticker). I believe CFO specified the closing times on their site. So the earliest available time will be tomorrow December 22, not January.

Here's the info I got from the site:
    http://www.cfo.gov.ph/
    IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please be informed that in celebration of the Yuletide season, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), both in Manila and Cebu will be closed on the following dates for December 2014 and January 2015:
    December 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31
    January 1 and 2, 2015
The CFO-NAIA counters will however observe the following schedule for the holidays:
    December 24, 2014
    CFO-NAIA counter schedule: 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    December 25, 2014
    Closed for Christmas Holiday
    December 31, 2014
    CFO-NAIA counter schedule: 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    January 1, 2015
    Closed for New Year Holiday

CFO will resume its normal operations on January 5, 2015.
    Thank you for your cooperation.

You may also contact them for further enquiries.
    Telephone: (+632) 552-4700, Email: info@cfo.gov.ph

    Hope this helps.

I agree, they will. Maybe Lisa is unaware of the fact that she could have attended the CGO's "Guidance and Counselling Programme" whilst waiting for her visa application to be determined. She could then simply exchange the GCP Attendance Certificate for the required sticker at the CFO office at NAIA - but where that is located is a bit of a mystery.

I think - but could be mistaken - that the CFO operates an online appointments system now and it is possible that the earliest free slots will be Monday 5th January.

I'm sure @Timmers will tell us where it is as his wife got the sticker at NAIA as far as I know..

Agree with others. You definitely need to get the CFO. They will check for it at the airport and you probably won't get out without it unless you are extremely lucky.

Not worth the risk in my opinion.

The CFO office informed my wife that she could get the stamp at NAIA, to first ring them and give them at least two days notice. We agreed that it would be less risky and to go back to the CFO office and get it done there.

I for one wouldn't risk getting the sticker on the day of departure at the airport even though you may have booked ahead, its just not British Filipino to leave things to the last minute, we like to be overly sure with everything as you know

You're taking an unnecessary risk, hope it works out for you and they don't pick up the fact you have a British entry visa in your passport.

Discuss it further with your loved one before you fly, you know it makes sense ;)

    hello everybody,

Just wanted to let you know I got through without any problem at all :)
They didn't check nor ask its probably because I have so many stamps on my passport??? I went with Thai Airways as usual. I don't like flying with PAL, Cebu or any of the airlines that doesnt take off at Terminal 1, other terminals...Immigration officers there are D*$@&!!!

Left 23rd to Bangkok waited for 4 hrs in BKK for my flight to uk.
I made it on Christmas day to UK with my monkey :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful christmas :)

    xx
