R. I. P the small boy how is it happening? Because its the Philippines, life's cheap, its all boiling down to centavo and peso, nothing else, its a far cry from the west.My nephews girlfriend got out of St George's hospital on Monday, she has been in for 10 days, her weight dropped to 32.99 Kg, she was in ICU in an induced coma for 5 days, the cost in the Philippines were she still living there would have meant she would have died as her mother is totally skint, that's the reality. Did the small boy pass away from Dengue?
Well he was born with epilepsy... He had a huge epileptic fit and was taken to hospital... Prior to that.. He was unwell for a few days with a fever etc. So that may of caused his episodic fit... Only to be told after he had passed he did infact have dengue and also one of the reasons for the death.. He did go into a coma stage and required blood... Which he got a few donors.. Only to then be told hos body wasnt accepting it and his body was shutting down. Yeh so so sad... Way to young.
Firstly my condolences to your extended family, this is always sad, the 7th birthday is considered special in the Philippines and is celebrated specially I think because historically so many children didn't survive that long. They are a third world country with almost non existent state provided health care, same as the USA if you don't have a job you have no medical insurance, no insurance no treatment or if you are treated a huge bill. If the Tories get their way that kind of health care will come to these shores eventually. I live in perpetual fear for my children's health because I don't have the reserves to pay for healthcare over there.
Firstly my condolences to the little boy. The lack of a National Healthcare system in Phills is not really any different to a lot of countries worldwide, and its why we are very lucky here in the UK, yes we moan and groan at waiting times and a hundred other little issues but it still a NHS that we should be proud of.
Young or old when a family loses someone it hurts. This young girl, Janine, a cousin of my kids and one of the closest friends to my kids lost her dad two days ago, her dad was my age or a little younger. I first met Janine and her dad Toto about 16 years ago, at that time Ana's sister Nene and her husband Toto lived in a wooden hut in Las Pinas, they were dirt poor but they worked hard to bring up their family. My son James informed me on Wednesday that Toto had passed away, we don't know the details but it sounds like he had a brain tumour, Nene and Toto had a lot of kids but I think things got a bit better for them over the years recent pictures show them living in a better place as the kids grew up. I am pretty sure they had no healthcare and if my guess is right I doubt Toto had any treatment of any kind, my son says that he could not walk on Wednesday and just collapsed and died. edit: I was wrong the family did try to rush him to hospital, I checked my messages. And that will no doubt cost them a lot.
