Remember that you still have to get a CNI from the British Embassy in Manila (or the Consular Office in Cebu). And you now need to book an appointment (at least 14 days in advance) in order to get that CNI... http://ukinthephilippines.fco.gov.u...ng-in-the-philippines/how-to-apply-for-a-cni/
Yeah, if it is in Cebu, email or phone Moya Jackson whilst you are in the UK so it can be done on your arrival. When you meet her, she can be quite strict. Be on time. I was with my future wife and Moya was not respectful to her, in fact she was quite rude and I had to tell her so. We had to go back to my wife's place to get something Moya wanted. It didn't go as smoothly as I was expecting.
Thanks for the tip Howerd.. I've emailed them now! Might try and get an appointment the afternoon I get there. Get it out of the way! PATCH, I will be in Manila for my first 2 weeks if you want to meet up? Though I suspect you are landing and then taking off to other pastures as soon as you land (like I did when I got there). Mike, what documents did you need to take in?
Sean, best to email Moya to ask her this. It is so long ago and I just made to-do lists and crossed of what was completed. I just remember things not going fast with the things we had to do after seeing Moya. We had to pay her quite a lot too if I remember. I just asked my wife who told me she had to go back to the province to get her "cenomar". Sean, I hope you don't mind me saying this but I get the impression you think it will all go without a hitch. There will be pitfalls and unforeseen detours along the way. Nothing that can't be overcome but my recollections are that there are a few hiccups also. You will be marrying in the Philippines and it is different. Make sure you book the lechon baboy in good time also. Hmmmmmmm, nice lechon baboy.....drool......
I fly into cebu on the 8th feb then go to bohol 13th till 17th and then back to cebu some of the family coming to cebu from Mindanao for few days I would have liked to go there to meet them but I think they little shy on me seeing their home
Mike, I was expecting a few pitfalls. Just hoping none at the embassy. Though this is why I have given myself 2 months there, so I can get everything sorted. Though, thanks for the heads up I've told Joy to bring with her to Manila her CENOMAR, birth certificate as well as passport and ID. And I also included in my email a request for what documents are needed. I ust need to wait for a reply, my email was sent out of office hours. PATCH, I know what you mean when you say your mahal was shy to show you her house, so was mine.
Seems like you're on top of things, mate. Keith had his fair share of ups and downs in his quest also. Pity we don't see him much on here, maybe the port is rather good and slides down with a warm glow:vhappy: With documentation in the Phils and marriage, more is better, especially as I believe your wedding will be a long way from Manila or Cebu City.
I'll be coming to Cebu Alan! Let me know if you want anything bringing over.. Which reminds me, mustn't forget to bring some marmite for the lucky taxi driver who wins it as a tip..
Kuya... How old is the CNI you already have? I think the CNI in your possession should be no more than 3 months old when you apply for the local CNI in Manila.
