    Hello All,

So my wife's BRP will expire in December 2023 which will be 2.5 years since we got her BRP (obviously).

(She was actually in the country for 1 year before that on a tourist visa which was extended during COVID and we got her straight onto a BRP via partner visa while she was stuck in the UK).

Can someone confirm for me when do we apply for another 2.5 year BRP for her? We selected the 5 year route, I assume it's just the same process as the first time.

Also she's pregnant and will give birth in December :)

    Thanks,
    Ollie

Usually, earliest date to apply for next Visa/BRP extension is 28 days before expiry date on current BRP.

Great thank you. Will we have to go to the Visa office again in person ? She will give birth around that time.

From what I remember, biometrics will need to be provided again even if you upload all the documents yourself.

Errr No, she just applies online and then continues life as normal until she receives her FLR then waits the next 2.5 years (which is where we are) until it's time for ILR, we didnt have to attend any office since my wife arrived here, think about it they already have her biometrics why give them again, my wife only has to give her biometrics when she applies for a visa to another country, not when she extends her BRP.

Sorry Heathen I think your wrong, I wish you were right though ! must admit I thought biometrics were given every time, and my searching seems to confirm that biometrics are given every time because face images change. My wife only arrived in May so we are in the first stage of the process but I remember thinking it will be a pain having to go to London or Cardiff from where we are in Dorset.

Ah, Southampton would be Ok but I don’t think it’s offered there now. As we have until Feb 26 until extension anything could happen

My wife got her ILR granted in August this year and had to provide her biometrics when she did the FLR application a couple of years ago, as well as the ILR application.

@DenNin Congratulations, I also had my ILR granted August this year and throughout my visa Journey, including brp replacement , I had to enrol my biometrics as part of my visa application.
