I bet he is partial to Eurocrumpet, though, when he is in Strasbourg.

Time to Take Mr Farridge Seriously

"Eccentric and downright insidious views on women would never be tolerated from the other party leaders. So it’s high time that we stop giggling at Nigel Farage, the cheeky-chappy, and start taking him to task, argues Cathy Newman"

They make up a sizeable portion of the electorate, Dave, in this country and in this day and age. I know some think their role is to ensure the back of the fridge is cleaned....but...

I dont think Mr Farridge will get the female vote. Do you?

I am sure that most women do not have the extreme attitude of that reporter, and most pay more attention to what is inside the fridge than behind it!

There is no reason why Nigel is less likely to win over the female vote than any of the other parties.

Don't we just love the Daily Mail when it suits us...

Could Nigel Farage's 'weakness for women' be his Achilles' heel? Ukip leader's love life may be his undoing at May's Euro elections

"After someone’s jibe that Ukip’s undisciplined party machine was like ‘Carry On Politics’, the controversial leader’s wife, Kirsten Farage, admitted privately that the ‘work environment takes some getting used to’.

In light of the fact that the party has been rocked by the claim from a former member (who, incidentally, was born a man before undergoing a sex-change) that Nigel Farage had abused public money to employ both his wife and a ‘former mistress’, Mrs Farage’s statement seems somewhat of an understatement.

The Ukip leader, 49, is accused of having had an affair with Annabelle Fuller, 32, one of his spin doctors. And while he has denied the allegation — one that has dogged him for years — his German-born wife (who works as his secretary) was more circumspect on Wednesday after the story broke, telling the media: ‘We will be discussing it tonight.’"

"They will also doubtless discuss the accusation by a fellow MEP that Farage had a ‘weakness for women.’

Like it or not — and he clearly does like all the attention — the beer-swigging, cigarette-puffing Ukip leader is currently being exposed to public scrutiny as never before.

For with just weeks to go before May’s European elections, all three main British political parties are terrified that he will cause an electoral earthquake by exploiting widespread public unhappiness about the overmighty influence of the EU and the effects of years of out-of-control immigration policies."

Man of the people: Much of the British public have taken to Nigel Farage because of his beer-drinking and cigarette-smoking image.

Er...all the criteria you would need to go on when you would vote for your MP or MEP....

Never believe the headlines John, there is zero intelligent content in the article, it is all just waffle.

Would you like to have a little drink with Nige Dave and ask him a few questions and if so what would you ask?

I always remember a current affairs class when I was at school. It compared a Daily Mail story with the same Guardian story. I will always remember that the Guardian focussed on facts whereas the Daily Mail went off on tangents completely changing the story out of context.

In other words, don't read the Mail because they talk bollocks, it should really share the same paper rack as the Daily Sport :). No it shouldn't, the Daily Sport is more factual.

I dont know. I very very rarely buy or read any newspaper these days. I made an exception the other day when the local paper was saying there is 90 % chance of gas in Manx Waters.

And is there a real chance of gas being found in Manx waters or was it the DM you were reading?

If there is gas found there it wouldn't surprise me if one of your neighbours (old one of mine) on the island gets heavily involved in it. I wont mention his name here but he's the same chap who owns the Trafford centre and half of the land in Lancashire, very camera shy chap.

Would it be good for the IOM if there was gas pockets found, IOM is small, wouldn't it sort of be invaded by industry, like a bigger Aberdeen? You never know.

Jonny And the Baptists goes viral...

"If ever there was a story to crystallise the peevishness, victim complex and plain stupidity of Ukip, it was this week's battle of the press releases between comedy act Jonny and the Baptists and Ukip deputy leader Paul Nuttall. The comics – singer Jonny Donahoe and Paddy Gervers – have recorded an anti-Ukip song, and are currently undertaking a so-called Stop Ukip tour of the UK. "
