Scientists unveiled today an unprecedented new look at our planet at night. A global composite image, constructed using cloud-free night images from a new NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite, shows the glow of natural and human-built phenomena across the planet in greater detail than ever before.

Fantastic image. Would love to get a hard copy of that and frame it.

You are probably not a lover of the North Sea but if you get a good image from above in the dark you can see a run of lights up and down the north sea where the rigs (platforms) are.

In this image, if you click on it, you can just make out the light of the north sea rigs to the east of Aberdeen.

Been to a few of those in my time, but you're right I'm not a big fan of the north sea. Too cold and lumpy for me

:D Yes, I have noticed that. I have met many who simply say fark the North Sea, I want to work somewhere warmer and with less paperwork.

Paperwork was getting mental when I left. There was also the having to pay tax thing as well!!
