    Great news.
My wife received her letter today stating her application for citizenship has been granted.
She has to wait for the letter for the ceremony from the local place.

We expected this a week or so ago because we had a letter telling us the funds had been taken from my bank account.

    Two more things to do:

    1) She has to go to the ceremony.

    2) Send off and receive her British passport.

I will be very proud and delighted when we all go on a family holiday to Spain as four British passport holders.
One where we all spend most of our time in the swimming pool and tasting real Spanish food.

At least she doesn't have to do any more tests :like:

On a side note, I am also pleased that she will get her passport as I may go overseas again this year as a client rep in the offshore life again. Then we are all clear to do anything we want depending on what happens....

Great news. How long did that take? It seems to be a good couple of months since you applied.

Also, great news on the offshore work. What will that entail exactly, if you don't mind me asking?

Excellent news Mike, I remember when Elsa got her citizenship, she had her passport interview 2 days later, followed by the passport sent out the next day.

    Hi John,
It took less than three months but I think this time was due to the workload caused by everybody submitting applications prior to the new rules.

    Thanks Rob.
I wasn't aware there is an interview for the passport.
    How does this work, Rob?
    Cheers

    Great news Mike :vhappy:

Congratulations and well done to you both....

The immigration journey is almost complete.

We really enjoyed the Naturalisation ceremony, it was extremely well organised and nicely presented.
Serious...but in a light way and with just enough humour.
We paid for the 'official' photos and were glad we did. They were so much better done by professionals.
Despite being a little expensive..still a wonderful momento.

Don't let your wife worry about the interview....generally they ask questions based on the application form.

Once your wife has received her British Passport you might want to consider making a visit to the Philippine Embassy to re-acquire a certificate of Philippine Citizenship. Don't do it before she has her British Passport as the Embassy will cancel her current Phils passport.
It's easy enough to apply for another if she wants. My wife still didn't bother getting a new Philippine passport. To be honest we didn't realise they would cancel her existing one so weren't prepared to make an application.

Well done to your wife and yourself.
I hope it brings more happiness to you both as the UKBA and government can be a real pain at times and make relationships very stressy when going through requirements.

    Nice one!:like:
