My Wife is Filipino and currently in the UK on a tourist visa which is a ( 6 month visa ) It was granted due to my ill health. We have been married for 2 and a half years now and i havent seen my step son since we got married in the philippines.

As my health is now recovering and my wife leaves the UK in September. I would like to see my step son and invite him to England for a visit. So i am intending to invite him on a tourist vis with my wife.

How long can i apply for? Can i apply for them both to come to England for 6 months or will i hit difficulties applying for this length of time? Does anyone have any advice?

    thanks

Yes but what do you put on the visa form? Do you say you want the visa for 6 months or do you say 4 months but change the return ticket so it last for the 6 months visa validity.

UKVI dont want regular repeat tourists using the UK for the 6 months each year--like a second home, so i doubt they would grant your wife another visa if she mentions staying for 6 months. better to ask for--say--one month for each visa. they will still be valid for 6 months--multi-entry though.....

On a visa form they ask when are you returning so if I put 4 weeks is the visa valid for 4 weeks? On the visa it shows the validity so how can a visa valid for 6 months when the expiry date of the one month you requested is on the visa?

I’ve been ill and only just returning to work I cannot apply for spouse visa until I have 6 months wage slip.

I dont have any answer on your question.

Just information that no one can stay for more than 180 days per year on tourist visa. I dont know when the calendar is re-set (i assume its calendar year).

So when your wife applies for her next tourist visa, since she will go home to pinas in sept (i assume she has exhausted her 6 months stay) she might not be allowed in the country again on a tourist visa.

Just take note of that the next time you apply.

Whatever date you put on the visa as your returning date , the visa will still be valid for 6 months from the date of its issue.

Whether you ask for two weeks, or a month , it will still be valid for 6 months .
