    Hi All,
My future wife is about to apply for her marriage visa, she is about to get her annulment certificate in the next week.
The VFS site seems to want a CENOMAR which will take her another long wait to get. does any one know if the annulment certificate will do or does she have to wait to get the CENOMAR.
    All help gratefully received.
    Regards Rob

I remember that my wife had to go to the Supreme Court after the annulment to get a specimen signature of the person who issued the certified true copy of the annulment, Regional Trial Court where she got the certified true copy. DFA for authentication (red ribbon document). NSO where she requested a copy of annotated Marriage Certificate and CEMAR (Registry of marriages; corresponds to CENOMAR if you have not been married before).
    Note that the above is not in any particular order, the order is below;
    1. NSO
    2. Regional Trial Court
    3. Supreme Court
    4. DFA

The above may have been over the top (and maybe not a requirement) but it worked.

Note that when we were married in the UK it took a couple of weeks longer than usual to give notice of marriage as the Registry Office wanted to send the loved ones annulment documents to their Head Office for closer inspection, so just be aware.

@bigmac got the visa only a couple of months back and his wife had been through the annulment process, he will tell you what they submitted regarding the annulment paperwork.

VFS does not have the authority to mandate which documents are required as evidence in an application. Their role is to collate documentation only. Consequently, provided that the British UKVI are satisfied that your wife is legally able to marry in the UK, whether that is by means of an annulment document or a CENOMAR, that should be sufficient.

The UKVI do not specify that a CENOMAR is required (since such a document is specific to the Philippines alone). Consequently, they would not be in the position to reject an application because of a lack of one, if alternative and valid documentation was to be provided.

it would be helpful to others contemplating starting annulment proceedings if you were willing to say how much it cost you--and the timescale involved.

ours cost me £2000 in fees and bungs--and took 14 months--longer than expected.

VFS will ask for a CENOMAR or CEMAR if you opt for their priority services. You could request online or in person.

    Thanks for all your help.
I was looking at the VFS web site for a priority service which asked for a cenomar. Can I ask what is a CEMAR, I hope that is a bit quicker to get than the cenomar.

I will tell you that the reason for wanting a speedy end to all this is that I am nearly 70 and the wife to be is 62. I don't think I could have kept up with a young Filipina its all I can do to keep up with a 62 year old.
We met when she was here on a family visa, and I have been to Phil to visit her. I would have moved to Phil but when my wife died she left me 2 large dogs, which would have died with the heat there. then I had cancer of the kidney
which they have done, just thankful I had it done here and not in Phil. I do like the climate in Phil no aches and pains there. She likes the climate here, even the winter, so thats lucky.

As far as costs and time to get the annulment, it has cost so far about £3000 that includes the various bungs to speed up the process, everyone wants something, its the Philippine way.
It started in February 2015 and was finished the end of July 2016 some 17 months. The lawyer thought it was very quick, and thought it might be knocked back by the Solicitor General.
But it hasn't been so far, just need to get the UK Visa and then the CFO and the sticker, and were away.

Good to hear a little about your background Rob, thanks for sharing with us.

    CEMAR is Certificate of marriage, below is how my wife went about things during her annulment, I'm hoping @bigmac posts and tells us what documents his wife submitted as evidence of the annulment;

What documents to secure after annulment:

    1. Court Decision – with comprehensive narration and the decision

    2. Entry of Judgement – usually 1-pager, just the decision. Sometimes referred to by some as Certificate of Finality.

Above 2 docs must be submitted to NSO (National Statistics Office) for registration of annulment.

What to request from NSO after submission of annulment papers:

    1. Annotated Marriage Certificate

    2. Advisory on Marriages (CEMAR)

What to submit to DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) for authentication:

    1. NSO Annotated Marriage Certificate

    2. NSO Advisory on Marriages (CEMAR)

    3. Court Decision

    4. Entry of Judgement

What to forward to VFS/UKVI along with other documents:

    1. DFA Authenticated (red ribbon) Marriage Certificate

    2. DFA Authenticated Advisory on Marriages (CEMAR)

    3. DFA Authenticated Entry of Judgement (with or without the DFA Authenticated Court Decision)
I hope it helps you out.
