Finally had a cataract operation on one eye.
Everything went well and a very professional surgeon from the eye exams to the operation.
I was a little apprehensive about having it done in the Philippines, but after some expat reviews I plucked up courage and had it done.

I will have the other done later in the year. Great see again properly though I only had the mono lens, the multi lens were very expensive. So I will need reading glasses.

Glad the procedure went well over there, Jim. One down, one to go. :like:
My sister had it done in the UK last month and she's really looking forward to the second eye being done, she said the colours really came back after the first eye was done.

Had it done in Dumaguete, Holy Child Hospital. The actual surgery lasted about 30 minutes. Yep almost instant clarity of vision. Just the eye drops I have to keep having, almost finished them.

I had my other eye done on Monday, was a lot worse than my other eye was. The op lasted longer and a bit painful, still is.
Had mono lens fixed so I need reading glasses for both eyes. But for distant vision perfect.
I can see the man city games without putting my nose 12 inches from the TV screen.

Okay, an update on one of my eyes has developed floaters. It's like a spider floating from left to center of my vision. Bloody irritating.
Has anyone experience these? And can they be treated? Looked on the internet and getting a negative response.

I've had a lot of floaters for many many years Jim, I don't think there is a lot you can do about them, they do seem to break down as they are not always that noticeable, but you always get new ones as well so it's a bit of a neverending battle.

But I do find they tend to got a lot worse after alcohol.

And while writing this and thinking about them I can see loads of them right now just because I am more concious of them and they have my attention, most of the time I don't really think about them.

They are just clumps of proteins in your vireous humor, I think it can sometimes be from bleeding or maybe just dead cells but I'm not sure.

Did they leave a little hole in the middle of the glass eye so he could still see out of it?

This will not help you but I had this op done on both my eyes 4 yrs ago this was done in UK on the NHS, although I sometimes get watery eyes this has been very successful for me, before the Op I was having major problems with double vision as one eye was more affected than the other, this was to give me a lot of embarrassment causing me to pee my pants, when going to the toilet and taking it out I was seeing two of them, one big one and another quite small, I know the big one was not mine so I would put it back and then pee as normal, this caught me out every time after I had a few Beers.

Fortunately even after the surgery this actually exists and is still there, maybe not quite as big as I thought it was through my distorted vision, but still there.

after i had my aortic aneurism stented--2016--keyhole surgery in the groin---i ended up with a very large ripe aubergine. I commented on my facebook page about it--saying i hope the dark purple colour goes away--but i hoped the swelling would remain

Actually he wears thick lens glasses.
He was in a pub and a man asked if they was thick lens glasses, he answered, no they are mine. :)
