I use a Chromebook which only has one browser - Chrome. I don't use CCleaner as this is a Chromebook but I do use a browser extension to erase all history.

I reset the device to new (without extensions) and I still could not stay logged in on here. I have had no problem on two other forums that use the same bulletin board software. But, as soon as I create another account on here, I have had no problems staying logged in on either the new account or my old account. It is a complete mystery.

That could well be your problem.

You might be able to add the cookies for this site to a list of "Cookies to keep" or a "Whitelist".

Worth noting that if you do this a site can tell what you are doing even if you are not logged in to the site. I recently removed KLM from my list of "kept cookies" after I had an e-mail from them five minutes after browsing flights to Central America, asking me was I still interested in flying to the country I had been looking at. I was logged out at the time and found this far too intrusive.

They say that love makes the heart grow fonder but when you fall in love at the age of 63 it makes the head go a little madder! Of course, all these words could just be a cover-up for a failing memory - maybe I can stay logged into British Filipino but just forgot!

On another thread John Ash said he had never spent Xmas in a warmer country. I am pretty much the same - at the age of 54 I got my first passport and went to Russia for Xmas, I don't speak the lingo and I was meeting a lady I met on-line for the first time. I ended up in a sauna with her uncle where I had to drink beer (I am t-total) and that was after drinking Russian Vodka - you cannot say no to a Russian Army Sergeant cook who just made you dinner!

Now, the first 'warmer' country I went to one Xmas, was Turkey. Again, I went there to meet another Russian lady and I don't speak Turkish either - but at least I had met her before - in Russia - again at Xmas. We actually had Chicken in Turkey for Xmas. I am now going to The Philippines for the second time. The first time was to meet another lady I met on-line but that did not work out to well and she led me a merry dance for four years.

But now I have met my perfect woman on-line, one that likes to read me prayers and sing to me over the phone! She is a devout evangelical Christian and her whole life revolves around her teaching work and singing in the church choir. When she is not doing that, we spend time chatting on Google Hangouts.

I may no longer be in my youth but I feel like a spring chicken again! Luckily I think the main Xmas menu in the Philippines is probably pork!

Now, I wonder if I am still logged in, or have I been barred for going a little mad?

I don't like to stay logged in anywhere for longer than necessary, that is why I put up with getting logged out on here. But it was really getting a pain when I often got logged out within just seconds. I always browse in incognito mode, so cookies are automatically deleted when the Chrome browser is closed (effectively when the Chromebook is switched off).

The only time I use the history eraser is when I have finished work for the day or when I switch on the computer next time - my memory is bad so I don't always remember to do that! But there is no doubt that getting logged off here has nothing to do with the history eraser as I still got logged out on a completely reset Chromebook in default configuration and, like I say, it does not happen on other forums with the same bulletin board software.

I have stayed logged in for over 2.5 hours now and one thing I have noticed is alerts coming up on a read band towards the bottom left of the screen when someone quotes my post, or likes a post or posts ona thread I am currently posting on. They have never appeared before!

I see you enjoy the odd one, two three or four girls in your life Howerd, what vitamins do you take to give you all that energy, or is it just that old thing called lust? :)

I am on hormone injections that completely suppresses testosterone so I am now in the male menopause, female menopause and female puberty all at the same time - that is a really weird mixture!

Doesn't sound to me that they are working too well, you might want to check the dosage :)

I'm not at home Howerd, so I've not done anything to the site that could affect you.

Glad it's working for you though.

The problems started long before you were a staff member, Jim. And I noticed you had not been logged in to fix my little problem. I cannot understand how creating a new profile has fixed the long-standing problem. Maybe it has something to do with my e-mail address?

I can see no cookies for British Filipino website. Do they appear under any other name?
