I visit Mindanao especially Davao and Digos often and love the garden Island of Samal. I was there a few weeks before hostages were taken last year. I'd be reluctant to go to Samal again. Will just visit Davao and then travel to other parts of the Phils. Travelling tomorrow and still a little cautious of the 'Bullet' problems at airport! Going to Mindanao for a few days before going to Cebu and Mactan Island. Looking forward to it immensely!

A Filipino news editor of my acquaintance says that th bullet scams are orchestrated by JPE for election purposes - just travel after the 9th!

Nothing wrong with being a little cautious and vigilant, "you're a long time dead" as they say.

I would have expected or hoped that the bullet scam has run its course, I'm sure another scam will surface soon at the airport.
