I have been asked by the NHS to come out of retirement and return to the UK to work as a nurse. I am on the Covid-19 register as an RGN SPDN District Nurse. My wife and I are living in Alicante in the third week of lockdown. I will not return to the UK without my wife - she is a Filipino Citizen and just had her Spanish Residence come through. She could not get the thumb print because the admin across Spain is closed. We cannot even go out for a walk. So how can it be done - can it be done completely online?
From MP 'In that case you would have to wait until she can complete biometrics, this is a necessary part of the application process'. Honestly they can't be in any hurry can they? No flexibility and too much red tape! And actually we do not plan to stay in the UK 5 years - we prefer Spain
