Brock and Nesa Begin Their Journey Along The "SS Road"

Congratulations to Brock and his wife Nesa who will very shortly begin their journey on the Surinder Singh road into the UK. Nesa has just been granted a Schenghen Visa by the Dutch Embassy in Manila.

Amsterdam didn't work out for Nesa and Brock as the houseboat he'd rented was double-booked. They have moved-on to Prague and have rented a nice apartment at a very reasonable price.

I'm sure Brock won't mind me cross-posting this update he gave yesterday here:

Just an update of our trip to Europe.

While in Prague I met an English guy who was married to a Thai lady, He told me he had lived in Europe for 1 month with his wife and had been allowed to take his wife back to live in England under the Surinder Singh route as long as I was a resident of any European country,

I got residency in Prague and after 1 month we went back to the Netherlands to catch a ferry to England, I was under the impression that I could apply for a family permit once we landed in England, But at the ferry terminal we were turned away,One officer there was going to allow us to go, But another said we were not allowed, The first officer said that she had allowed others to go in the same situation as ours with no problems, They phoned British immigration who told them not to let us board the ferry, I spoke to the British immigration officer and she was pretty abusive towards me, I asked for her name which she refused to give me and put the phone down on me..

We then traveled to the Haige to the British Embassy to see about a family permit, I explained our situation and they told me they didn't supply any permits or visa`s there and told me to go to Calais terminal border control in France.

We then made our way to Calais, And was told by border control that their had been amendments to the rules and regulations that had not been put on the Government website yet, Same thing happened there, One officer was going to let us through until another stuck his nose in,They said I didn't prove that my center of life was now in Prague,And that I must live there for at least 3 months and 1 day, They interrogated Nesa for 5 hours and even searched her, I didn't find this out until a few days later otherwise I would have gone mad with them, Why search her if they had no intention of letting us go.

They then fetched the French police to remove us from the building.

At the terminal I met a Polish guy who had been refused boarding to England because his dog had not got the required paperwork,

He was having to go back to his home town for a couple of weeks until his paperwork was sorted out, Anyway has I hadn't been to Poland before we decided to go there, We went to a place called Bielsko Biala, Its very nice here, Only trouble is I can find nobody who can speak English,,,Went to a to buy some pork, Had to make the sound of a pig,,,, then wanted some Chicken, So did some clucking,,,,Then Nesa said she wanted some Sausage, Then she just laughed at me,,git, lol,,,Anyway we stayed at the guys uncles house for 1 week until we found an Apartment to rent, We are going to stay her for a few months and then try again,,,If that fails, We will be moving to Ireland..

At the moment I am in England, I had to come back to sort something out and had to leave Nesa on her own for a couple of weeks, but she is coping ok, I will return to her this next week and carry on with our adventure. Hopefully we will be in England well before Christmas..

One more thing, Nesa is now pregnant,So I,m going to be a Dad again, God help me, Thought I was past it, But still life left in me yet,

Just hope the baby will be born in England
