Right... so I have submitted my application on the 13th October via NCS. It has been more than 2 weeks and I still yet to receive a letter from HO to confirm that they got my application; and surprisingly, they haven't debited the visa fee yet.

Tracked the documents and it said that it has been delivered, but getting nervous as there are still no confirmation letter. Should I consider receipt of application on the date I submitted my docs at NCS, or when I receive the letter? If it is the latter, it may be a problem as I wasn't physically here 3 years ago (and the rules says that I have to be).

Yaips! Any similar story out there?

It's normally between 1 week - 10 days after receipt they take the money out of your account then a few days later you get the confirmation letter.

If they haven't debited the money I'd feel inclined to follow up.
Did you use the local Checking Service ?

The rules of residence are very specific and UKVI are correspondingly strict.

You must have been physically present in UK 3 years to the day before the application is received by the Home Office.

    Here's their example,
"For example if your application is received on 20/1/2015, you should have been physically present in the United Kingdom on 21/1/2012. Most applications that fail do so because applicants have applied even though they cannot satisfy the residence requirement to be present in the UK at the beginning of the residential qualifying period.

From what you've said you actually do comply so I would follow up.

What was the date of receipt ? Do you know who signed for it ?

No need to panic just yet.

I know that, that's why the panic.. I went through the Nationality Checking Service so wondered why it took them that long.. although it did say in the website that it'll take up to 4 weeks before I receive the confirmation letter... but still...

Date of receipt was 15th of October and I am guessing that it was signed for by reception..

And so... I finally received the confirmation letter from HO dated 30th October. Is this the date.of receipt or the date the documents were signed for (15th Oct)?

Just curiosity really, but I wonder why they insist you have to undergo biometrics for citizenship ?

Don't know.. I'm guessing they would match my current biometrics with my previous ones and see if I'm the same person? I'll have to do biometrics within 15 working days or else my application will not be decided on..
