Hello and Happy New Year everyone! Anyone on here currently doing their citizenship application?

So I’m from the old rule (3 year one). I’ll be using my IELTs results from 2011 as my ‘english test requirement” that I took before I moved here in the UK around the same year. I know they said the validity is 2 years but has anyone been refused because of this on here? I swear someone I knew from years ago used hers and got accepted. But that was from years ago I don’t know if they’re more strict about it? Should I take another test? Help

    Thanks again !

I think as long as the place you took your test at is on the transitional list 2015 you will be ok.

Oh I got the life in the UK test already! I’m on about the english test one. I took IELTs in 2011 before I left to the UK and used it for fiancé and marriage visa.

no,once a candidate passes their Life in the UK test, the certificate is
valid indefinitely. Whether or not the test centre is still running has no
    effect on the certificate.

see this link and refer to your certificate
    https://webarchive.nationalarchives...g-for-uk-visa-approved-english-language-tests
    also
Where an applicant relies on an approved English language test in speaking and listening taken before 6 April 2015 and is required to submit documentary evidence as detailed in the Approved SELT tests - transitional list, this must take the form of:
    • a certificate and/or other document(s) for the relevant test as specified in the SELT tests – transitional list that:

is from an English language test provider approved by the Secretary of State for these purposes

is for a test approved by the Secretary of State for these purposes o shows the applicant's name

shows the qualification obtained (which must meet or exceed level A1 of CEFR)

shows the test is within its validity date (where applicable)

Or • a print out of the online score for the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic test

Thank you for this! Im going to look for my IELTS stuff now which I have also used when I settled here. I was so sure I remembered they were saying the would accept it even it ran out! I even had a high score back then- an 8.5 and they said they accept even just a B1 level!

Is there any detailed requirements here for the citizenship? I mean from someone who had gone through it recently?

When you do this online, system will generate a checklist for you at the end.

Documents similar to ILR, but financial requirement excluded.

    usual docs:
    -Passport
    -English language requirement
    -Life in the UK
-Proof of living in the UK for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as spouse of British citizen
    -Proof of ILR (BRP)
    -(marriage certificate)
    -2 referee declarations

book and attend appointment with Sopra Steria to enrol biometrics and provide documents. Self upload of documents prior to appointment is also an option.
