Thanks - I was saying more or less exactly the same thing earlier today on another post, viz: Yah, fat cats all over the world getting richer every year whilst the ordinary folk get poorer and suffer... Add to that the cost of finding somewhere to live and the effect that cheap labor (immigration) has on the ordinary peoples education, health services and employment opportunities... And basically the "middle class" (whatever that is) are back where they were before that witch (Thatcher) conned them all into thinking they could have a slice of the pie if they turned blue, worked hard... and all that crap. Actually it's not even that good - they're worse off than they were before now! Couldn't believe someone actually disagreed with that
Name names it was me who disagreed, one of the issues of the country getting poorer is immigration or lack of control of it. Look at the reports of the poor areas then look at the demographic profile of the population living there in.
Not really. I just wished I had moved out of London much earlier, preferably before the pandemic. Life in the Midlands is so much quieter and cheaper compared to London. lol
I can agree with that Andrew although petrol tends to be cheaper the closer you get to London but life gets so much more expensive and ****ty. I've been down near London a couple of times recently to see my daughter and grand daughter while it's a nice enough upmarket town she lives in, she and her partner are paying like £1850 a month to rent a place to live. It's bad enough where I live, further north than you where I'm paying £850 a month, I've got a great landlord and a lovely house but that's a lot of money and my income is now fixed or declining from now on.
Eventually you will find that it is even better in North Wales. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrexham
