I am an ex service personal and met a girl serving in the SAF. We got talking through Facebook and then by Skype for a few months. I went to see her for three weeks. We fell in love. I want to marry her but am worried that my financial set up would effect our chances of bringing her back to the uk. I am on A War Pension, Disability Living Allowance and ESA. I live in a council flat which I have my rent and tax benefits. Will these be effected by bringing a wife back to blighty? Many thanks.

I'm sure that the guys here with experience can help you more but as far as I know, as long as you have proof of shelter and you meet the minimum income requirement (depending on the number of people you are applying a visa for), they it shouldn't be an issue.

    Exemptions

You will be exempt from the new financial requirement if your sponsor receives a specified disability-related benefit or carer's allowance in the UK. You will need to show that your sponsor can maintain and accommodate you without access to public funds.

For more information about the financial requirement and the evidence we need, read Annex FM 1.7 - Financial requirement, which you can find on the right side of this page. It is guidance for our staff.
