Totally agree Wonderful wonderful wonderful too Sorry Mike, I know it's the same song. Just to share the one that 'floats by boat', as well as the the one one you posted that 'rocks my socks' hehehe
I had heard that song before but never had any idea that they were fellow Scots, I liked both versions that you posted guys but I generally prefer unplugged acoustic these days so the one Peter posted would get my vote. There is a strong similarity to some of Snow Patrol's stuff I think, I take it Mike that was a T in the Park video? I sadly never ever made it to any T in the Park, would have loved to have gone to one, I did make it to Glastonbury in my younger days back in the mid 1980's
In my day we had this kind of thing (1979) I knew these guys through some other pals at the time, the Chou's played Paisley Student's Union quite regularly, around about 1:40 it goes from the painful to the very melodic, in spite of the ear wrenching quality of most of their stuff they were incredibly talented musicians. Like much of the UK Scotland has a long history of experimental music Chou Pahrot 'Lemons' (one of my favorites) Oh and the pronunciation at the time was along the lines of Chow Parot, not the French style 'Sho Paroo', we also have a history of very silly band names in Scotland
In later years I grew to love the music of this sadly deceased young Scot Martyn Bennett (long battle with cancer at a young age). His music was a fusion of Gaelic, European, Asian, North African and middle eastern music
I should say as well Mike that this kind of band and this kind of powerful emotional music is what gets me these days, thanks for this I will get a copy and I will listen to more of their stuff.
