Few months ago, i visited parts of Bicol Region. I have noticed most towns are sparsely populated. One thing came into my mind.. TYPHOON! As we roam around by bus and boat, i was awed with the serenity of the place, blue waters of the Pacific and mountains roundly formed by passing winds during typhoons. This part of Phils. is blessed with natural abundance of marine life.

While being there, I can't help but to compare the busy life at the cities. There, i can just get lazy while back at the cities, minutes counts.

Bicol offers considerable tourist attractions specially for those who want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city life:)

Moved this thread to travel tips..

About Bocol, given the recent spate of tsunamis in the pacific, I might personally give it a miss and stick to the inner islands. But that is just me...

I went from Naga down to Legazpi via Caramoan a while ago. Not wanting to put others off, i didn't enjoy it there, my worst trip ever to the philippines. It felt like the wild west, everyone was out to scam me out of as much as they could. Very under developed, un-tourist friendly.....and the weather was crap too, very wet and windy. The only positive point was a great view of Mt Mayon on the approach to Legazpi airport
