With the internet becoming more and more intergrated, where facebook and sites like this converge. Your online life is becoming available to anyone with access to Google!

So, I thought I would throw a few tips for you to think about..

    • Keep your passwords complex. Don't use simple words or names simply because you can remember them, if you need to then write down your passwords and keep them somewhere safe for your browsing. Use a mixture of letters, numbers and symbols. An example of a good password would be t6$mp0+67 which is much more difficult to crack then say your child's name, even if you string a number after that name it is just too easy for a hacker to figure it out..

    • If you access 30 websites, there is no need for 30 individual passwords. But keep a few passwords you use for different purposes. So, if you visit a website for digital media, it makes sense to use the same password for another digital media website:like:

    • Use a good internet security package to protect you from malicious websites that might look to steal your credit card details, sites do this by installing key loggers onto your system or send you to another webpage designed to look like paypal, your bank, etc.. Keep away from illegal software is also a good trick as a lot of scammers bury trojan programs within pirated software.

    • Be careful about what information you give out online, be that in facebook, this site or any other place you will write information that is visible and searchable by the general public.

    • Don't worry! Serious hackers are far more interested in getting financial details en mass from banks and financial institutions, a seasoned hacker would have no interest in the photographs of your family or whether or not you like rye bread. It is the less skillful hackers that concerns the public and a good solid password along with a good security package will usually protect you from those people.

    Hope that helps!
