And that's just a tiny part of this universe.

This structure (and all the others) and how it came to be is actually a facinating complex and controversial topic.

Cosmic strings as the backbone? Maybe although that theory has fallen out of favour these days.

Laniakea means 'Imeasurable Heaven' or 'Immense Heaven' in Hawaian and it's actually around 520 million light years wide, still a tiny peice of the universe.

These stuctures arose out of quantum fluctuations at the earliest moments of the universe they are huge today but were microscopic at the moment of the big bang and the hard part is to explain why they exist at all when inflation should have smoothed out the entire universe.

Getting a bit late for me to ever know the answers to these kind of questions but it still facinates me.

You'd think it's sand underfoot, but it's a small region in the Andromeda galaxy with at least 500 million stars.[IMG]

    The most well known version:

I was thirteen when Woodstock happened and I remember wanting to go even though I didn't really know where the festival was taking place back then.
We were all growing our hair in those days, it was cool and totally opposite from the skinheads in their crombies who delighted in hurting people.
The Woodstock generation had a long-lasting legacy.

My brother who's about your age bought the 3 lp version of the concert when it came out - used to play it all the time - some great stuff there - couldn't believe it when Country Joe McDonald came on and started with give me an F...

Anyway, I still had the thing up until about 12 years ago... sadly I left my stuff with someone when I came out here and they nicked it and few others grrr...

Prefer MSC's studio version but another great song.

The Santana track "Soul Sacrifice" is my personal favourite.
A youthful looking 22 y.o. Carlos Santana and the crowd really digging it (man)
Drummer Michael Shrieve was 20 and was the second youngest musician to perform at Woodstock. His drum solo during "Soul Sacrifice" has been described as "electrifying".
The hairs on my arms still stand up whilst listening to / watching to this track

Was a test ... I thought as you like abstract pictures...

Could be the tail of a fish...

Or the spine of an animal...

    Or...

    You could enlighten me :D

Whatever it is it's a fine picture.
