    Hey guys!

    Back story:

Me and my girlfriend have been online dating for a year on November 29th. I would like to help her to get a visitor visa to come see me here in the UK. She is currently working as a maid in Kuwait and returns in December to the Philippines. So will be classed as unemployed as her 2 year contract is up. Before meeting me her plan was then to take up another job overseas as she has 2 kids to support. Since then we have been discussing the future and instead of her going abroad for another 2 years I want her to come visit me and eventually we intend on marrying.

My question is will the evidence of having 2 kids be enough to satisfy them that she will return. We have every intention of doing this by the book. However due to medical reasons I can not travel, well certainly not those distances so me visiting her is not an option. We plan on her coming in February and well initially staying for a month however I'd quiet like to explore the possibility of extending that up to the 6 months once she is here. I will financially support her completely. My only worry is the fact that she has no job when she returns and the immigration people thinking that she won't go back.

Any help or positive comments welcome. I'm a little fragile! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Peter :)

I'm guessing that you have already done a little research regarding obtaining a UK visit visa for your good lady, as you will probably know the most difficult thing about the visa is to submit evidence that it is very likely your lady will return to the Philippines after her visit. Not having a job to go back to will make your application more difficult.

The cost of the visa is only £87 so worth a try, search the forum, there are loads of threads relating to the visit visa application and just post if you have specific questions.

I normally say at this point don't worry if the visa is declined as you can always visit your loved one in the Philippines but in your case that does not sound possible. Any chance for example that you could break a flight up to the Philippines, UK to Dubai and stay in Dubai one night before flying on to Manila?

Remember that before applying for the settlement visa in the future you need to have met your loved one at least once so you need to find a way of getting together :)

Thank you for your reply Timmers :)

Does it really matter what job? Do you think if it was a job in a mall something that she is either due to start or has only been in for a very short amount of time?

I have looked into those options but advised against it by the Doctor.

A job is a job doesn't matter what it is, all gives weight to your application for sure :)

Has your lady been married before ?

No she hasn't. She has 2 kids from a broken relationship but never married.

I asked because there is no divorce in the Philippines, they have to go through a annulment process which is time consuming and expensive, that's the only reason I asked :)

Can you fly at all or is it a definite no no?

The reason I ask is because if all else fails you could always meet in Morocco where the two of you do not need visas to enter, I know a couple of people on the forum who have done this.

I can fly, but getting to Germany last year was a stretch.

I'm just thinking of ways to get you together, I was in Morocco myself a few months back and I flew via Paris, so you could have a break in that case. Morocco direct from London is a 3.5 hour flight.

    Just a thought.

Thats an idea I will look into it. However it is over £1,000 to fly her to there so I'll have to do the calculations.

Money is always a consideration of course, those of us that have brought our loved ones to the UK will vouch for that, but all the money is worth it in the end :)

I am on ESA and PIP so unfortunately money is a restriction.
