Stopped in a hotel for 8 hours, then went to see a friend in Morong who retired last year, lucky man. then next day back to Manila. next day mum- in laws house in Bohol, 5 minutes then off to see wifes sister who lives half way up a mountain. now 5 hours sleep up on their PC writing this.
Going to chill for a few days here, then off to Dumaguete to find a decent lawyer, over here for two months :D

Hope it is a lot warmer than here though... I get there in 3 weeks and I can't wait to leave the UK winter behind.

Hot and sunny now, with a hint of humidity lol.

Had a drive with their old jeep down the main road, trying to find the right gears on the wrong side of the road, then the electrics
cut out, some experiences that was. got back in one piece.:like:

All quiet on the Eastern Front, then.................

I would refrain from driving any vehicles which haven't gone through an MOT test since they left the factory......
Apart from that, you are doing allright, and I wish you a marvellous and enjoyable stay.

Have a great stay over there Jim.
Although we haven't really had any cold winter days to speak of here in the UK yet, it must be nice to be warmer over there?

40+ on a ship with reflection from the metal must have been 50+

You can put clothes on but you can't take your skin off :erm:

I can clearly recall my first trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra (India) we arrived there after a very strange but interesting trip on the Dehli-Agra express about mid-day on May 17th
We did the tour and by gosh it was difficult. The temperature reached 42C which was high even according to the locals.
After the 2 hour tours and photos we found a hotel, had ice-creams and enormous quantities of ice cold Kingfisher Beer.
Needless to say we did not return home until the following day.

That day was HOT! but oddly not the most humid I've ever experienced.

    Mr Mike aposhark,
At some point we must meet up for a beer. I'm sure we will get along famously and enjoy recounting our world travels.
I bet we even stayed at the same hotels at the same time during the past 30 odd years.

My worst nightmare was Lagos. After my first trip I told my company 'never ever ever again', and I never did.
But those few weeks were the most terrible and scary ever in my life. I could tell you all the stories and all the scams and that I fell for at least two..............

    Yes Micawber,

Yeah, when things settle down (nappy times) here perhaps we can have a sip.:like:
I was in Nigeria many times and in lots of other west African countries too. :erm:
You will know well that if you can work and survive in West Africa, everywhere else is a doddle.
I have seen grown (white) men weep in Lagos!

I first flew into Lagos in 1978 and had my passport confiscated for a few hours by immigration.
Customs also told me that cameras were not allowed and they tried to lift my Canon AE1 out of my bag to go under their counter, before I was quick enough to snatch it back...
Then when I got out, we were stuck in a 5 mile queue to get away from the airport and were eventually all fined for speeding (we were doing about 3 mph) when we hit the main road :vhappy:

I learnt the ropes after many trips and do miss Africa in the odd moment or two.

I worked for a Norwegian oil company and some of the supervisors wouldn't fly down to meet the ship - they were once bitten too :D :erm:

Wife had a small operation on her big toes, back in Uk they went black through not wearing the correct.
shoes, then over here they started to lift and got infected. So we went to the local hospital to have her nails removed.
I watched the doc take them away, ouch. it was funny in a way, the secretary shone :erm:a flashlight so the doc could see
    that cast me 3.500 peso's.
