Hello, I am a British citizen who knows of a Filipino female who would like to come to UK. She trained four years as a nurse but I believe she failed her final exam. I know her English is fairly good as I speak with her often and my mother language is English. She currently works in Saudi as carer for a disabled child. I was wondering if anyone could please know of any info on if she could apply for a work visa for UK?

I can say that working visa is difficult to obtain unless someone has offered him/her a job (employer's sponsorship) here in the UK. Try going through UKVI website
    https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas
Hope someone could actually give you details about this matter as most of the members here apply for settlement (marriage, spouse) visa.

Thank you Anne. We were looking to get married but I don't earn 18,600 a year that the govt here now states I have to earn, which frankly is discrimination against people in low paid jobs like myself

Hi Alex. It is a tough situation that you're in but the government, rightly or wrongly don't want people to become a burden on the state.

I feel you, Alex. It took us 2 years to get ready for the application because for one, my then fiancé's company was taken over by another. We had to wait until his salary reaches the threshold.
