One prominente who is no fan of Eco-warrior Greta Thunberg would be petrol-head Jeremy Clarkson. Here's what he wrote in the Sun a few days ago:

WHEN a teenage girl has an angry, tearful strop, most parents just send them to their rooms until they’ve calmed down.

However, when 16-year-old Greta Thunberg got on to the stage at the UN this week and had a full-on adolescent meltdown, she was deafened by the applause.

    Not from me she wasn’t.

Because I was in the bog, being sick.

“You have stolen my dreams and my childhood,” she sobbed.

“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you?”

Right, well in the immortal words of Samuel L Jackson: “Allow me to retort.”

How dare we? No. How dare you sail to America on a carbon fibre yacht that you didn’t build which cost £15 million, that you didn’t earn, and which has a back-up diesel engine that you didn’t mention.

I’m sorry Ms Thunberg, but if you’re going to lay into my generation, you must accept it when I lay into you and yours.

What about the pills you take when you have a headache?

What about the clean water that comes out of your tap? What about the food you can buy at any time of the day and night?

No 16-year-old was responsible for any of that.

What about the aid missions currently being run in some of the poorest countries of the world, or the drugs that help keep Aids at bay?

Think about all the movies you’ve enjoyed. Movies made by grown-ups. And all those comedians who’ve made you laugh.

And then pause for a moment to consider how soundly you sleep at night, knowing that adults are building and servicing and flying Sweden’s fighter planes. To keep you safe.

We gave you mobile phones and laptops and the internet. We created the social media you use every day and we run the banks that pay for it all.

So how dare you stand there and lecture us, you spoilt brat.

And yes, you are spoilt because when you told your mum and dad to stop using planes and give up meat, they didn’t behave like sane parents and ignore you. They actually said, “Yes, dear.” And did.

What they should have done is point out that life is tragic.

Some people are born bright and some are born stupid.

Some are beautiful and some are not.

Some have rich parents who give them everything but love.

Some have poor parents who have nothing to give except love.

Now shut up and let them get on with it.

This is how the world works. It’s how the world has always worked.

And banging your fists on the table won’t change a thing. You’ll learn that when you’ve got a few more years under your belt.

I agree with you that the world is heating up. You may even be right that man has something to do with it.

And there is no doubt that as deserts eat into currently habitable places in Africa and the Middle East, Europe will face an unimaginable refugee crisis.

Something needs to be done about that. So how’s this for an idea. Get back to school as quickly as possible and work hard in your science lectures.

Because science is what will solve the problem eventually. Not scowling and having screaming ab-dabs every five minutes.

Many thousands of people who you had the temerity to blame this week are trying to do exactly what you want.

So be a good girl, shut up and let them get on with it.

And no. You cannot stay out past ten. And you cannot go out in a skirt that short.
President Putin told delegates at an energy forum today that he did not share the excitement about the Swede's United Nations speech last month. He said that she "tell developing counties why they should live in poverty" over her campaign to cut fossil fuel use and called her a "poorly-informed teenager" who was being "used by adults".

When you are using Jeremy Clarkson and Vladimir Putin to justify your disapproval of a teenage girl, that should indicate you will be on the wrong side of history.

Fwiw, I had no real opinion of Greta one way or the other. A bit like Brexit where I was very open-minded at the start. But then I see some of the grotesque figures who are opposed to Greta...well, they help greatly in making my mind up.

Putin: I don't share excitement about Greta Thunberg's UN speech.

MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday took aim at teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg, telling an energy forum he did not share the excitement about her United Nations speech last month.

The 16-year-old Swede electrified the UN summit in New York when she denounced world leaders for failing to tackle climate change, unleashing the outrage felt by millions of her peers by demanding: "How dare you?"

Putin, chairing a session at an energy forum in Moscow, said: "I may disappoint you but I don't share the common excitement about the speech by Greta Thunberg.

"No one has explained to Greta that the modern world is complex and different and ... people in Africa or in many Asian countries want to live at the same wealth level as in Sweden."

    What? Are you on crack?

You are proudly following the opinions of Vladimir Putin and Jeremy Clarkson. You're the sheeple here, pal- not me!

When it comes to the environment, you have no idea what my stance is. All I can say is that I would have no desire to share the same stage as Vladimir sodding Putin, and would take anything that a paid troll like Clarkson says with a massive pinch of salt!

Nor you mine. If you re-read my post you will see note that I don't express an opinion, one way or t'other, I simply mention what two prominent members of society have to say on the matter.

So I can quote the whole of Mein Kampf. When people slag me off, I can defiantly insist that I'm not expressing an opinion?

Clarkson started to lose the plot many years ago and to denigrate youth, and particularly the warnings of climate change, is something he would be wise not to attempt. o_O

I think that this member has just inquired whether or not you are high on drugs?
The general tone of this place seems to be sliding.

You can make it classy by posting more videos of notorious racist and criminal, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.

Atoned for his sins, the slates wiped clean as he paid for his crimes, society punished him, and we are all allowed to use pseudonyms so he is Tommy Robinson :)

Don't remember him apologising for being racist?

As for using pseudonyms, he is fine to call himself whatever he likes on an internet message board. However, if I was to meet any of you fine (and not so fine) gentlemen at the local Barrio Fiesta and insisted that you call me "Pork Adobo," you have my express permission now to punch me in the mouth!

Searching online records for "Stephen Yaxley-Lennon" + "racist" will yield a treasure trove of results.

However, it's pointless because like the Corbyn defenders you'll find a way to squirm out of it.

"Being anti Islam isn't racist.... Blah blah blah"

If it swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, we all know it's a duck. And we all know Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is a dirty filthy racist with thousands of followers in his dirty filthy racist cult.

Tommy is as much of a racist as Dianne Abbott :D iIgoogled what you told me,no concrete proof, loads of lefties bleating about him being a racist but couldn't find an iota of genuine proof,he is a nationalist however :) but so are most pinoys with the old "proud to be filipino" or americans flying the stars and stripes on their porches or even Pakistanis driving down southall broadway very slowly during eid waving Pakistani flags out of the window and blowing horns.

Why do you think I care about Diane Abbott?

You seem far more fascinated by the UK's first black female MP than most other people.
