    visa accepted BUT!!!!
If you applied from outside the UK

When your leave is granted, you’ll be issued a 30 day vignette. The vignette is valid for 30 days from the date you said you’d arrive in the UK (even if you arrive at a later date).

You’ll have to apply for another 30 day visa if you don’t travel within that 30 days.

Your decision letter will tell you:

You must bring your passport or travel document with your vignette when you collect your BRP. You should also bring your decision letter.

did not recieve the letter which i take it would have had the MUST USE BY 30 DAYS
WELL I BOOKED TRIPS TO HER PROVINCE etc and book a holiday for me then our return trip to uk
so knew nothing about having to use it within 30 days or the biometric card from a post office

but although it says you can extend the 30 day visa
it does not say how wherte who you apply to extend it
HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS, AND KNOWS HOW TO EXTEND THE VISA

Have you checked your junk mail? Sometimes emails from UKVI can go in there.

If no email then maybe try emailing them?

Somebody else was asking about this length of time. Timmers, there is the answer.

30 days from the date the visa was issued from / date the applicant said they would arrive in the UK.

she is going to get the cfo till i saw the visa thing, but i am thinking its a new rule, only about since march, i applied in feb, so thinking why we did not get a letter saying what post office to collect the brp from , is because iot does not affect us as we applied before the new rule was implemented

yes--i raised the question in connection with Jumil's thread. but it doesnt seem right to me-----30 days to pack up and go-???-after all the applicant could have been waiting weeks or months for a decision. what about serving out notice in a job for instance ?

nooo-- i think this 30 day business is for immigrants with FLR to be able to leave the UK for a holiday or trip without it affecting their FLR.

I was and still am confused regarding the OP, there is an answer to your question, I read about it ages ago and it is certainly more than 30 days. I have read on an application somewhere a question asking why you could not travel using the visa in the allotted timeframe. I think if you have a valid reason then the visa can be put on hold under certain circumstances. For example, if a family member was sick and you couldn't travel, things like that, I'm sure I have read about this somewhere.

I know it doesn't help you much bigmac, I will try to find some information out when I get home in a couple of days.

I seem to remember there is an expiry time. But cannot be sure. I would have to dig through my old emails. Trouble is the ruling may have changed by now.

I think it stands to reason there will be a cut off time but I do not know how many days/months and if it can be put on hold under certain circumstances, I'm pretty sure the latter stands if you have problems at home that prevent you from travelling, I'm positive I have seen that somewhere.

I read somwhere that someone wanted to delay their departure by 3 months. She contacted the embassy in Manila and they called her in and changed the dates for her.
