    Only high-fliers could afford it!

It would be incredible to fly that fast but will it be affordable in our lifetimes?

I suppose if they are built, they will be used on the most profitable business routes first.

Yes a rich mans mode of transport really but would be a fantastic reality. A long weekend to the Philippines :)

Yeah, something like that would be great HaloHalo, also I suppose jet lag effects would be different compared to flights these days.

I hadn't considered the effects of jet lag but yea the body clock may even more affected than now. I mean at least you can get some sleep on a 15 hour flight and make some slight recovery in that respect.

3.5 hours would be nice but with the price of rocket fuel I don't expect the price to be 600 quid a seat :D

Jet lag is not a problem, I'd just sleep when I got there in a comfy bed, I'm usually just about to go to sleep after 3.5 hours on a flight, that's about when dinner is finished and my last glass of wine is quaffed on KLM :D

The thing is would this be 3.5 hours of hanging on for grim death, or would it be a pleasant smooth relaxing business class experience, I suspect it might be the former, with lots of acceleration and sharp steep angles and 'no you can't go to the toilet until we are sub orbital' :D

Which reminds me: did you partake of both dinners on the London-bound flight? :D

Why do you think I'm standing at the back in the group photo that Mike took on Sunday :D

Of course, I aim to get full value for my money + the extra glasses of wine, or Champers as it was on my last flight home :D

I won't hold my breath. Concorde tickets were always on the expensive side and the aviation industry right now seems focussed on larger, more fuel efficient aircraft. One thing about speed. Its not fuel efficient.

It will only take 20 passengers!

Exactly, screaming and weeping all 210 minutes of the flight ;) :D and paying through the nose for the privilege :)

Only kidding, they might be able to make it a nice experience but rocket motors and smooth don't generally go together, ramjet and smooth well no one has flown one so we have no real idea I suppose.

Not sure that a mid size fast business jet does not make more sense, luxury, nice beds and point to point travel that is quick enough.

If I was rich enough to travel in it, the less passengers the better :)

Indeed the small business jets that currently fly our skies go higher and faster than your everday passenger commercial jet does but of course you pay for that luxury.
