Just managed to watch A Theory of Everything, while Mrs Ash and the nipper are at a Filipino house warming. I can see why my colleague made the point that she made. In the movie he does appear at one point to acknowledge a god. In fact the movie quotes from his book, A Brief History of Time. Though seemingly he has also said that he nearly cut that line out but if he had then the book would not have sold so well. What an amazing life he and his wife had. 2 years to live... Noticed that the actor that played him has now been given an OBE
