Labour taking ideas from the Philippines 'airport terminal fee'. Malacañang will be pleased such good ideas are being used in the UK. :erm:

Labour and the Tories are just playing into the hands of UKIP, Nigel must light a big cigar and get the vintage whisky out every time the two main parties conjure some new immigration rules up :D

Seems labour doesn't know what waiver is???

if they imposed something, then it would cause all the others countries to start charging too...

then there is the cost of collecting , handling it and sorting out those who are not prepared to pay it.

    Yep, complete idiots!

    From that BBC page:

In a speech in central London on Tuesday, Ms Cooper accused the government of having no idea where 50,000 failed asylum seekers were...

Try Mandy he might just know what happened.....

'Immigrants? We sent out search parties to get them to come... and made it hard for Britons to get work,' says Mandelson, Former minister admits Labour deliberately engineered mass immigration

Labour are absolute hypocrites and taking lectures from Cooper about immigration is like being slapped about the face with a wet fish. Not painful, but very humiliating.

You obviously haven't visited the US or Australia in recent years .... they charge a similar amount to (for example) British Passport holders wishing to visit as tourists.

    Really...........
The 10 quid charge, wouldn't keep me away from visiting a particular country if I wanted to go.
It is the the patronizing way it may be introduced and the feeble excuses that labour contrives to find, to justify another tax.
As One World mentioned, the costs of implementing, collecting, managing the resouces, etc, etc, would far outstrip any perceived income to pay for those extra border agents...
