Hi All, Tomorrow is my heart breaking day of departure again leaving my wife and extended family behind Anyway this time I will be applying for the visa once I get back. I just had a couple of questions if anyone could help? 1. I have considerable gambling on my statement haha is this a problem? 2. Does the biometric need to be done before the documents are sent or is that after ? 3. Is it ok for my wife to send the documents to me then for me to post them from UK? 4. On the application ( I started filling it) it says Naric letter however my wife has an ielts 6,5,5,6 which is believe is sufficient ? 5. Is it worth paying for a solicitor etc or will I be able to do this on my own? 6. I cannot see any request for housing documents, will these need to be sent later as we will live with my parents for a while Thanks in advance
1. No, you just have to meet the income requirement, they dont want to know how you spend your money. 2. The biometrics come first then i believe you have 28 days to submit documents, however this document submission (Sheffield) may have changed recently, but thats what we did back in April. 3. This is the bit thats changed, I believe there are various locations to submit documents at now. 4. She needs to have an english language certificate from an approved centre. 5. You can easily do it on your own, plenty on here will give help and advice. 6. so long as where you will be living is not overcrowded (Proof needed), and you have a letter confirming your accomodation you will be fine. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful on the document submitting question, but im pretty sure it changed at just about the time i submitted mine to Sheffield, and there are now several locations to submit, Im sure someone will give a more up to date reply on this, it is here on the website somewhere..
Thanks for your assistance. I also read alot about cover letters. What do these entail as i didnt see anything on the application i started? I also need to do a cover letter for my employment as i start a new job tomorrow. I took the new role due to a 6k increase. I have all my old payslips and letter from old employer. Need to get my new employer to do a letter next. And with the housing and overcrowded etc, does this need an inspection report or are photos of the rooms and a shot of the electoral roll enough? Thanks again
Cover letters are entirely a voluntary thing, such as like you say, a letter explaining that you have recently changed your employer, and if you can, get a letter from both your old and new employer, if you cant get them then do your own cover letter explaining where you worked, and when you changed your employer, that really should suffice. Housing, so long as you have documentation showing that you live in accomodation that is not overcrowded that is enough, it could be a letter from the Council, from an estate agent, or even your tenancy agreement showing that you have at least a 1 bedroom accomodation for you and your partner. with at least a lounge, bathroom, and Kitchen, due to the data protection law i could not now obtain a copy of me on the electoral role, so included my voting/polling card, Housing inspection report, yes many on here get these, it really depends as with other requirements how much evidence/proof you want to supply..
As i said above it doesnt specifically ask/need for a housing report in the requirements.. a housing report is just what people decide that they need to get for there own circumstances or peace of mind..
Yeh better be safe then sorry ..for £100 more for one of these maybe worth doing for piece of mind...of you get someone who's looking at failing you and you don't have enough proof that you live on your own or overcrowding etc. Maybe difference between pass and fail
Hi Heathen! I just want to ask what courier service they use to deliver the passport to your home? Thank you xx
For my wife's passport/visa it was 2go, she had to meet them in Maramag, because they wont deliver to her address , they phoned her first to arrange the meet up.
Pretty sure it was overnight in our experience - definitely quick. My memory was text from vfsglobal that visa had been processed and appeared next day before noon. May depend on how far from manila you are as my wife was living on Luzon and not that far from manila.
No didn't pay..told me he would come in between 12 and 1..never turned up.need one asap as lady as docs just waiting submit after this report
Take a look here.. https://www.ricsfirms.com/search/?search=true&location=Stoke-on-Trent&firmname=&service=3
They're lazy - they always try it on here - sometimes I go and get it - other times we just text them and tell them we're always in and they deliver it the next day or a day later.
