Those arrested include XR's leading 'light' Roger Hallam and the organiser of the splinter group that's supposedly going to bring Heathrow to a standstill from today.
The cops caught a couple of them at 3am next to Heathrow with drones,i saw the newsclip, the cops were leading them away to the car amicably, they should have tazered them, cuffed them, and dragged them off
Small intermission for facts "Protesters had planned to fly drones outside any flight paths at no higher than about 1.8 metres (6ft). They had notified the airport and the authorities of their plans weeks ago and said that once a drone flight was over its pilot would phone the police and wait to be arrested." https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...irport-as-activists-threaten-drone-disruption
They never even got to fly the drone this morning,no need for your factual intermission Mr Angel, they were arrested before making a phone call i can see planes now, just looked out of the window, thankfully the terrorists didn't interrupt any flights nor endanger lives today
It would appear that no drones will be flying anywhere near Heathrow as the Daily Telegraph reports that attempts early this morning failed as, according to a would-be pilot, signal jammers have been deployed. The Police have issued a dispersal order under Section 34 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 which has been implemented in the area surrounding Heathrow Airport and will be in place for about 48 hours.
A heathrow-pause spokesperson is on TV as we speak being interviewed in Holland (I hope she walked/swam) she was trying to downplay their intentions (because they failed ).
Damned pests should be given some rocks to break for a couple of years. Release some of that pent-up energy and spare time doing something useful
Sick and tired of silly trendy protests that could endanger life and/or limb of innocent people going about their own business. Protestors should ask for permission from the Police/Councils or whomever is in a position of granting or denying such requests, at least 2 weeks before the planned event. Anybody that does not follow the rule should be arrested immediately, fined until his/her katangas/boobs squeak in pain and additionally put on 299 hours of community service cleaning road verges from litter and whatnot, without wearing a yellow vest.... As wearing one, would give them the unfair advantage of warning drivers of their presence in advance, thus enabling them to avoid injuries. I approve of protests, in fact I think that sometime it is necessary to raise one's voice, but only if they are conducted in a civil manner, legally authorised and policed, without causing major disruptions to the majority of the public that may or may not be interested, but want to get on with what they are doing at the time.
I would have thought the risk to the public of aircraft at 6ft altitude might be of more significance I think you may have missed the point here its not a protest, its a Rebbelion designed to disrupt, the premise being "protest" doesnt work The drone folk WANT to be arrested and inprisoned thats the point for them
Well it appears to have failed before it even really started and thousands of people will be very happy that their flights won't be disrupted after all. What's even better is that the nation's already overflowing prisons won't be having an influx of disruptive self-indulgent anarchists whose crime is unfettered selfishness. They'd be crying-out for their mummies within minutes of being banged-up!
Barstards what gives them the right to be incacerated to attempt to get us all to stop the real disruption thats comming There mummies will die like our kids will heartless they are, shouldnt be allowed!! ...oh wait it isnt
Oh, I didn't know you had children Mr Angel, congratulations you just don't seem the type I am surprised you never high-tailed it down here yourself and encamped on Bath Road ready to fly your mavic Pro at the first sight of approaching aircraft
A member of Heathrow Pause, an Extinction Rebellion splinter group, was arrested this morning inside Terminal 2:
"Protesting", in my view is an acceptable and civil way of conveying disagreement, provided it does not cause unduly worry and fear on others. "Rebellion", on the other hand is a planned and violently criminally executed anarchic way of causing fear and distress to the public at large. In which case, the perpetrators should be hit with the full weight of the law. As you have in the past, you wish to show your violent tendencies by associating yourself with the false prophets of politically induced verbal diahorrea, which leads to cerebral coma......... But, in the political arena, you are not willing to put your money where your mouth is, so you make noises but keep to your 9 t0 5 in the hope someone else will step forward, as the dodos did to extinction.
