Costs about £40,000 a year to keep a person in jail, so their carbon footprint will be still be significant, money pretty much equates to economic activity and most economic activity has a carbon footprint.

True, but they wont be using any form of transport in their lifetime nor fly in from LA 5000 miles to protest climate change like emma Thompson.

This conversation using this medium is part of the system called the internet which now apparently has a bigger carbon footprint than the entire aviation industry.

I don't want the end of technology, I want the end of burning hyrdocarbons that fuel that technology, I want alternatives.

And that number is very out of date, it is closer to a billion tonnes, although it is a hard number to pin down.

Drones need to be licensed now, as with firearms. They are potentially as dangerous, in the wrong hands. Severe penalties introduced for their illegal use too, along with confiscation.

Time for some new 'toys' for the wealthier self-indulgent , which don't pose a threat to others. IMHO.

I sleep just like a baby, unlike some crazy conspiracy theorists that just lay there calculating the manner of their own demise all night!
    A cruel insomnia.
    No way to live IMO.

I have a long-haul flight tomorrow and was expecting disruption due to the planned drone-flights by protestors, they didn't start yesterday thankfully, the idea of a lifetime behind bars obviously dissolved their resolve.:D

5 hippies have been preemptively arrested this week ahead of todays planned eco-terrorist operation rather grandly named "Heathrow-pause" I can see planes in the air stacking up to land, the first aircraft touched down early this morning.
