I was wondering what little things in life annoy us here at British Filipino. For example I was at the supermarket last night with the missus and I moaned to her like hell when I saw someone had left a trolley in the middle of the car park. "Too damn lazy to put the trolley back in the bay which is only 10 metres away, I've seen trolleys roll off before and hit cars, they would moan like hell if that happened to them" I said. Another one for me is people parking in disabled parking spaces, I don't care if the bloody car park is empty and its three in the morning, you never park in there! By the way, I'm up so early on a Saturday morning because I got up early to use the bathroom and the missus is snoring now and I cant get back to sleep, another gripe of mine although I'm being very hypocritical on this one
Well, I have been forced to park in disabled spaces as I can never get a space in the parents and toddlers spaces cos some 45 yo neanderthal jerk has parked there with his 20 yo son!
At the end of the day excuses come cheap John , I'm sure many other parking spaces were available were they not?
People leaving shopping trollies in the middle of the aisles. People walking slow People walking slow not looking where theyre going using the mobile phone and look at me with disgust if they bump into me Warm beer People who drive to slow People who drive at 40 regardless of the speed limit People who cant seem to get their car into a parking space People wearing sunglasses indoors Queuing People who cant seem to figure out airport security People who don't tidy up after themselves Racists Bullies The fact my old local shut Not being able to get proper sausages out here Sprouts and cauliflower Not being able to drink as much as I used and getting hangovers twice as bad The fact I'm getting older Really camp gay blokes, yes you're gay I get it Theres less and less british seafarers No one can drive in the whole Philippine population All I do out here is sweat Apple That I have to go to work in 4 days My tax accountant still hasn't got back to me after 2 months of asking That about covers today, more tomorrow.........
I have found that my people patience level is dropping year on year. I went into a barbers yesterday with the loved one, there was only one chap having his haircut so I thought I wouldn't have to wait long, wouldn't have gone in if there were other people waiting. After two minutes waiting I said to the missus "lets go", when we got out of the shop she asked me why we were leaving, I said because she stopped cutting the chaps hair and started prattling on to him, she should be able to cut his hair and talk at the same time I said ATM queues are another one, I hate it when the person in front seemingly finishes their transaction only to find she has brought all the families cards with her and is getting cash out for everyone! Patience isn't a virtue I have (only have it at work), at least the loved one already knew of this bad trait I have before she came here to the UK so we try to avoid situations where I know I might get flustered.
Think you may have opened up a can of worms with this thread! MP's Leaving the bog seat up Running out of toilet paper Narrow-mindedness Tax Why wont anyone buy my Alfa 156 Dogs continually barking and the owners doing nothing about it My company won't buy my business class flights Business class is so expensive. pound - peso exchange rate cauliflower and sprouts Jetlag A certain niece and nephew out here I cant seem to lie in anymore Marathons are called snickers I always seem to be skint
Hahaha Sounds familiar. I hate waiting as well. My wife is always on at me that I can't have an entire shop or mall etc to myself there will always be other people. Obviously she's wrong! I've left a full trolley food in the middle of a supermarket with my quid still in it because I was fed up dealing with other people. Lucky my job allows to go out when the exposure to the great unwashed should be at a minimum!!
LOL, after I'd walked out of the barbers yesterday we went to a camera shop to buy a camera for our wedding photos, I chose the camera then was trying to catch the attention of the assistant who was passing the time of day chatting on the phone, I said to the missus "lets go". After leaving the shop she said she would go back in and wait while I found another empty barbers shop After we left the shopping area she said we needed to go to the supermarket which we did, we soon left though as it was too busy, that's why we went at 8.30pm last night to supposedly avoid the queues and people. I either go shopping as the shops are opening or closing as to avoid the dilly dalliers and pram brigade. Why do women talk about prams like us chaps do about cars?
Oh, and bloody Wetherspoons, why do they only have one person behind the bar? takes forever to get served especially when you're behind someone who has ordered a damn latte or something.
Not when you have a baby to get out of the car. Most definitely not. You might like to try it one day. Why do you think they have parent and child spaces in the first place?
I'm 53 now John, never in a million years would I like to be getting a baby out of the car at the supermarket, those sort of things are years behind me thankfully. I do see many people abusing the mother and baby bays, you should confront them, as long as they're not too big of course
Exactly. So I have no qualms about using the disabled spaces if I can't get a parent and child space. I had a word with Tesco here but they were not interested.
Until it is a ticketable offence then the disabled and mother and toddler parking spaces will continue to be abused I feel.
Funny you should mention washing powder, I had a disagreement in the supermarket with the loved one, she wanted Daz and I have always used Persil, she won in the end as she is doing the washing
Managed to get the last parents and child parking space today, so was dead chuffed. But then my euphoria turned to anger when I noticed some slob had left a shopping trolley right at the end of the space. Grrrr.
