Going to the gym now, early, before the masses arrive,I see quite a few older gents exercising, oddly enough very few older ladies.
The ladies seem to bear the brunt of the obesity thing. Largely down to gestational diabetes and PCOS.
This is quite big news as it means that the BDA, Diabetes UK and Diabetes. Co.uk are in unison on this. This means that if your healthcare professional says different then they do not have a leg to stand on. It was concluded... "low carbohydrate diets have been demonstrated as being effective in facilitating weight loss and remission of T2DM"
Channel 4's Food Unwrapped is looking for an expert / doctor / scientist that could tell us exactly why offal is so good for you and what health benefits it has. This is because offal is pretty nutritious. The programme will of course go out on air in the not too distant future.
Offal is incredibly nutritious. Just many people dislike it. I eat quite a bit of liver pâté and Mrs Ash has it quite a bit now. She sometimes cooks chicken liver adobo which isn’t bad to the palate. https://panlasangpinoy.com/chicken-liver-and-gizzard-adobo/
Chicken Gizzards are fantastic, I have to go to Nando's for mine as 'Er indoors doesn't really cook pinoy grub.
That's it, the livers, nice though when I used to shoot deer I always kept the kidneys for a fry up with mushrooms, and remember eating tripe as a kid, nowt was wasted.
i cooked a couple of tesco frozen beef burgers for myself last week--in my air fryer--cooked perfectly--most of the grease dripped down into the under-pan so they were less unhealthy. Only problem was they smelled of cow dung! Clever addition i thought--made them seem more authentic.
This wasn't the crap stuff Jim, this was the nice white washed stuff with vinegar and sometimes black pepper if we had it
Here we go: https://fb.watch/7YzaCGQwus/ Two NHS GPS comment on the Facebook video clip. Note the point about reducing the surgery drugs bill. If this was replicated across the land in its entirety the NHS would save a pot of money and a lot of time!
A guy called Gary Taubes has written a book called “The Case Against Sugar”. In it there is a big chunk on gout and fructose. The book is free right now, here: https://cdnstatic8.com/revolucaoket...021/01/The-Case-Against-Sugar-Gary-Taubes.pdf He also is a speaker on the topic of sugar and here is a recording at the Koop Institue USA labelled by the same name. (Koop is a very famous name when it comes to the war waged on the harmful effects caused by smoking) Anybody interested in NAFLD, obesity, T2 DM, coronary heart disease, hypertension, gout ought to find this stuff illuminating.
Here we go.. Sky News. It’s not how much we eat, but what we eat. It’s gaining more and more traction and finally catching on. https://news.sky.com/story/overeating-not-the-primary-cause-of-obesity-claim-scientists-12406990 “Overeating 'not the primary cause of obesity', claim scientists”
An NHS GP Practice nurse ( Hampshire ) writes today: “My lad had his second day at college where he’s studying Sports Coaching and PE Teaching and today was all about nutrition, and they are bang up to date. They learnt how poor diet leads to diseases like cancer which then feeds off sugar, and that carbs aren’t essential. He said he spent the whole lesson nodding as the chap spoke, waiting for him to say something wrong, and being ready to question it, but he didn’t. There is hope ” My old O level biology book says that there is no essential carbohydrate for humans - published in 1960s. Finally experts are catching up.
Today at the NHS Primary Care Training Hub in Manchester. Liverpool GP advising other NHS clinicians on how to treat chronic metabolic diseases without drugs and with food choices. It’s happening. No doubt both the cost savings and the time savings will be of great interest to Practice Managers aswell as the health benefits.
