Wife is a bit tentative about it just now. She had planned to but is a bit twitchy about Covid right now. I am not really bothered either way. But yeah, will avoid L1 car park if we do go.
Quoting one observer: “ 1 All curves rising 2 Admissions & inpatients both rising and increasingly quickly 3 Both rising faster than ICU patients 4 ICU patients curve rising faster than deaths. I suspect this may reflect better treatments at all levels (moderate; severe; critical), reducing progression to worse stages.“
I think you are right. I actually have my temperature checked everyday at work as I go in the door. They have one of these machines that does that. It is very quick and a computer voice churns out the result audibly.
Here is the full YouTube video. There is a blend of participants. It’s a shame to call it a stunt. These guys were seeking to prove what they already knew but in a way that would counter the doubters. Dr Ian Lake is a GP based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. There is a dietician amongst them. A paediatric food psychologist. And of course the World Champion and Olympic champion James Cracknell. The video is full of relevant points. And here is one of them: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-...lth-news/one-three-cusp-diabetes-9518135.html So we cannot so easily distance ourselves from this. 1 in 3 and that was in 2014. It’s higher in the USA. I wouldn’t personally fast. But there are obvious benefits to it if over weight. It is very interesting what they all say in the beginning that they were surprised how easy it was and that they didn’t feel hungry. Doctor Ali Ibrahim deals with the assertion that it might be dangerous to fast (which of course it would be for those who are undernourished).
I have the opinion that if you are overweight and try to fast then at the end of the fasting you just feast and could end up in a worse place than when you started. I dont do supplements or pills, we look closely at the traffic light reports on food packages avoiding red, we will use fresh fish and fish oils for vitamin D, also mushrooms, eggs and look for cereals and oatmeal. Asian shops are perfect for non mainstream fish (proper cooking ensured) ie Basa a good array of fresh fruit and veg, never over purge any one item, avoid to much salt intake and a good glass of wine or two on a saturday night.
If you switch to fat burning mode, you burn fat. That’s it. Switching to fat burning mode is well known now but has until now been dismissed as anecdotal. Experiments like this take the disparaging “it’s only anecdotal” bit out of it all. After fasting, don’t feast on carbs otherwise you will be back to square one. This is why low calorie diets are unsustainable. What they are saying is don’t eat carbs if they are harming you, which for a huge amount of people they are. There is no need for them. The traffic light system is being held as tosh now. Many would like to see it abolished as it conveys the wrong information. These guys have been out, done the science and that science is in our hands now. It is now in our hands to either take note or ignore. What is useful is on the back of every packet and jar i.e. the stats for the Nutritional breakdown of the content, fat, protein, carbohydrate etc,
I didnt watch the video so cant comment on its content, my comments are based on my own thoughts Traffic light report on packaging if you look at the Biteback 2030 movement they are driving for greater use of the traffic light report in particular aimed at the youth of today to reduce obesity. Like everything there is always 2 sides or more to every debate, what I do know is that what I outlined above is working for me I feel better all my well man checks have improved and I fit into clothes I couldnt 6 months ago!
You can disagree all you like but you might as well disagree the world is round. By disagreeing you are not comprehending the evidence.
One of the big issues with the traffic light system is it doesn’t convey sugar content in carbs - big omission. Often packaged food is overloaded with carbs but the traffic light system doesn’t tell you they will make you fat or diabetic or give you heart disease. It over focuses on salt. And dismisses saturated fats. The route to obesity in our young is in the over consumption of carbohydrates.
Oh dear! I am comprehending the evidence, Thank You!!!!!!! my weight is reducing, my blood sugars are normal, my cholesterol levels are decreasing and close to normal, so all is improving in my world!
I know, figure of speech only. My senses of taste and smell have been nearly absent since I had my heart attack 11 years ago. I think it is due to the cocktail of various medications I am on every day. Being type 2 diabetic doesn't help either, as the Metformin I have to take 3 times a day does help being very loose at times... So if I, by any chance, am affected...... I wouldn't know the flaming difference, apart from temperature?? And even then, I would not be allowed to visit my doctor, or go to A&E............. I am starting to think the ridiculous and unthinkable... Some kind of culling going on?
Pretty sure there is a symbol on saturated fats on this label but maybe I am ignoring the evidence on this label to To help you its one of the red portions so no need to "ask the audience" or "phone a friend"
