yep--mine took B1 in portsmouth for her 2nd flr last october. just a recorded question and answer conversation with another applicant who was french. so that should cover her for ILR . unless it all changes again. less than 2 years to go for that. i better start saving ££££
for you--fiancee visa --approx £1500? then--after the marriage--first FLR --£1033 ? plus £1000 IHS then --30 months later--2nd FLR--£1033? plus another £1000IHS then 30 months later--ILR--£2500?--but no IHS then--a year later ?--citizenship if you want it. means UK passport. no idea of that cost. all these prices will no doubt go through the roof again. good innit
you will just have to dip into your savings mate. dont forget--once shes got her BRP--with her first FLR--then you can send her out to work!. and you dont have to wait for the full 6 months. just as soon as your wedded she can apply for 1st flr.
Yep, that was fun, travelling to the PI embassy to find out that we needed to register our marriage first before applying for the passport, we went back a week later, the PI embassy actually feels like you're in the Philippines as no one had a clue what was going on lol
Yeh she’s already said she wants work and study ASAP which is great..wow that’s good as soon as wed is done can apply for next step..that’s great to know
my fiancee arrived on 25th feb 2016. we did all the register office thing and got married on the 30th april. booked for FLR same day in person at Croydon 16th may. ( in spite of a rail strike on the day---grrrrrr). she was working before the end of the month!. so it was about 3 months into her fiancee visa.
hmmm--interesting. my wife STILL hasnt registered the marriage, she uses her previous married surname--and will do till we get to the UK citizenship stage. all they did at the embassy was to make a note on the passport application . they did say she could register our marriage there and then..but i didnt have my passport with me. we were worried it might delay the new passport, as she wanted to go home in june (she applied in April ) but she got her passport in 6 weeks. i renewed my uk passport in january 2013..and ive never used it, i doubt if i ever will.
The wife wanted her married name on her passport as our son has my name and it makes it easier for us
Can apply for citizenship immediately after ILR if married to British citizen. So can spend some more money (£1330) even earlier. She also has to do the reacquisition of philipine citizenship after getting British citizenship. https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain Eligibility and fees You’ll usually be able to apply for citizenship if you’re over 18 and have had one of the following for 12 months: indefinite leave to remain in the UK ‘settled status’ (also known as ‘indefinite leave to remain under the EU Settlement Scheme’) indefinite leave to enter the UK (permission to move to the UK permanently from abroad) You will not need to wait 12 months to apply if you’re married to a British citizen.
