Hello, I want to get my gf a visa around September and I am not sure which visa to apply for. I would like to try for the Marriage Visa so we can get married here in the UK. and so she can stay here for 6 months. Or I could get a Visitor visa and she stay for a couple of months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My gf is self employed in the Philippines as a sales woman for selling Condo in Manila.
I would continue to live in the UK, and of course I would like her to live with me here. But if its easier to get the Visa if she went back after then we will do that
Lol the girl in my profile is actually my ex lol, I broke up with her because she was already married with a child and getting an annulment was too much headache. I need to update that photo lol
I changed my profile photo now to my new gf, I met her recently and spent 3o days with her in the Philippines
Problem is that to get settlement visa either before using fiance or afterwards using the marriage visitor visa then have to meet the salary requirements
if you feel the time is right--why not simply get married in the philippines ? avoid all the visa hassle.
I love to hear about this dont have a high enough salary, There are ways around that . I retired almost 2 years ago now, on just a State pension, and i thought my future would have to be in the Philippines if i was to ever get married to a Filipino, even 12 months ago i still thought the same, then the more i thought about it the more i began thinking was it my only choice ?, No was what the answer i came up with, anyways I/We did get married last April, then early May i came back to the UK alone, by the end of the month i was back working in an entirely different kind of job to what i had spent most of my working life doing, working on a minimum 10 hours per week contract, but sometimes working many more , and hey ho 6 months later i had met the 6 months salary requirement, if i can do it almost anyone can do it , Im still doing that work even though it has dropped off quiete a lot since Christmas, so much so that that i felt in mid february that i needed to get another P/t job to augment my income, so now i do an additional job 3 hours per day 6 days per week, and im bloody loving it . The worst thing about retirement is the boredom believe me Iv been there and done it , and whilst im physically able i will carry on doing work, plus the fact is that trips to the Philippines have to be paid for, thats besides visits to other countries that we are planning to do if the Spouse visa application fails, but we will still do some of them even if we are succesful . So there are ways to achieve the financial requirement for most people, its just a case of wanting something enough to get out there, and doing it if you want it badly enough. I accept that for some people its just not possible, but good luck to you whatever your future plans are, Im just trying to point out that it is possible to achieve the financial requirement if people are prepared to work a bit more, and be patient.
Well I have just started a new job as a carer, the pay is crap but I do enjoy the job. Its something I've always wanted to try. I also drive for Amazon. I think I can get about 18k a year but do I have to do that for a year? Or can I show 6 months bank statements?
So long as you are employed, you need 6 months salary slips, and Bank Statements, I believe its if you are self employed that you need 12 months varifiable salary, and Bank statements.
Good for you..hope it works out for you. My wife is a carer..in the last year she earned £21000...with a lot of overtime. She has now been promoted to deputy manager. Save your payslips for the next 6 months..see what it looks like . You need to hit £18600 in a year. She can apply for a visit visa..valid for up to 6 months....but difficult to get. A marriage visit visa is possible too..costs the same..but you have to prove she will leave at by the end... If I were in your shoes I would get the next 6 to12 months over..see if you meet the earnings required for a settlement visa..then think about marriage.
Bang in the overtime, Im sure that there is plenty of that available . Actually doing Care work was an option that i looked into doing, but the last time i looked into that it took more than 3 months to get my enhanced DBS check come through..
Your doing well having two jobs, Bigmac gave you some sound advice, I notice that you say that you drive, thats the jobs that i have gone into, but totally different aspects of delivery driving. Im guessing that Amazon doesnt pay a very good rate (Per Delivery ?) if thats so keep that job for now, but if you have time look around for something with better long term prospects. Always remember its only 6 months minimum that you are required to meet the financial requirements, so you can work your goolies off for 6 months.
Looking ahead..if you do get married..and she gets a settlement visa...then once she gets her BRP she can get a job too. Double income..no kids yet..DINKY. probably will be the best time of your life..financially.
