Under the "Appendix FM 1.21 English Language Requirement – Family Members under Part 8, Appendix FM and Appendix Armed Forces – November 2015" on page 5 it states:- The English language requirement only applies to those applying as the main applicant under the rules listed above. It does not apply to dependants of such applicants.
For the IELT exam there are 3 life skills shall i take the B1 or A1? I will apply for spouse visa. And is it better to take the workshop before taking the exam? They offer a workshop. Anyone here that can give me idea, and is it different from other ielt. Im not confident enough. But i speak fluent english and also working in a call center
There is a thread in the visa section and they explain what her test was like. @@gary M, I took Lifeskills A1 last August in IDP Manila. It's very basic English. Your fiancé and other applicant going to have a conversation for 2 mins. If I remember correctly they asked my name, what's the weather like where I live, who is my best friend and where she lives and we communicate with each other. Then we go for listening there are two question from that. It's about a restaurant and what time it is busy. Then they play a tape, during the playback they stop and ask you questions about the conversation taking place to see if you are following the conversation correctly. The last part is the two or 3 mins conversation with the other test taker. One of them should start the conversation and give each time to ask and talk.
If you speak fluent English and work in a call centre you will have no problems with the A1 test. It is a very low level - just basic conversation skills.
My wife easily passed the A1 test but when she applied to work in a call centre in the UK she failed as she could not understand native English speakers over the phone.
This coming thursday? All sched are full the one i got is on march deanobeano, thanks for confirming.
Just want to ask, what id needed has she taking her passport but looking on the site for test, its says take 2 passport photos and other saying they doing their photo at the test centre. Thank you.
