Hello, hope everyone is all well. Sorry I haven't been on here often but as you all now I have a new Filipina girlfriend and hoping to see her sometime next year in the Phils. Sadly her smart phone got stolen in the gym back in May and we haven't been able to chat especially when on the move through Viber and Skype and at the moment she's borrowing her friends old phone with facebook mobile but it's not enabled for video or voice calls. We both miss our mobile messaging. She's saving up for a new phone but it's taking her time to save up although she works. She has Internet at home but always doesn't have access to the computer all the time. I'm thinking of sending her a mobile with Viber and Skype enabled so we can video chat too. How do I go about it? I would appreciate all the help on how to do it. Cheers
Better to spec one here in the UK for her and then send her money to buy it there in the Philippines, that way it cuts down on cost of postage and takes out the possibility of any connection issues from the phone originating in the UK. Doesn't seem like two minutes ago that you were posting here trying to find a Filipina love, as the saying goes "you chase after them till they catch you" Lets hope she is not pulling a fast one regarding the phone Good luck Nick
Very commendable thought indeed, but I would refrain from sending anything at all. Internet at home is more than adequate, for now and the immediate future. After you actually meet the girl, it will be different. But until then she will have to be patient. tell her that you are trying to save for coming over to see her, In short, try not to become a victim........ Other members will most probably agree with me......... I could be wrong, of course............
Hi Nick! Its been a long time .....Nice to know you are into relationship now. Is this new girl from what you told me before? 3g phone here is not that expensive, there are many brands she can choose and compare. If she is working, I dont think it will cost her a lot. And I am sure if she dont have his own mobile it would be miserable on her, coz its necessity for our daily living. I recommend,wait for her to buy for herself...I am sure she can do that for herself.

yeah I agree with the others. I wouldn't get sucked into sending phones or anything else but rather focus on arranging a visit and meeting. I wouldn't for one moment suggest that this is the case, but there are plenty of Filipina women who have more than one 'foreign bf' or who have a 'foreign bf' to go alonside the local boyfriend. She can find time to get on her home computer if she wants to. Just to push the point home. My wife knows a woman who has had a 'foreign bf' sending her money for a couple years. She has not yet met him. She also had another guy she speaks to online. And she's been flirting with a japanese guy. We know another woman who has never met her 'foriegn bf' and she told him she has 2 kids. She actually has seven. Just saying - these things happen - be careful.
I would suggest though that you make it a priority that you get to do long, regular,uninterrupted video calling at any time. I would recommend that you install an application called vsee (google it) on your computer and on hers. Its intended for low bandwidth connections and is free. Its good because it allows 'auto answer'. Then I would get her to enable 'auto answer' on that. What this means is that if she's online, then you call, and the computer picks up the call and starts a video chat without intervention. My wife and I used to have this system on both our computers, and both were online basically 24 hours a day. I was free to look in when my other half was asleep and vice versa. That way, either of us could call at anytime and say hello or check the other person was ok. It leads to a reassuring feeling. If you're serious about this girl, then I wouldn't bother with the phone. I would suggest buying a cheap laptop, preconfigure it with vsee, take it with you on a visit, and if the visit seems ok and honest, then leave it and use it in the above fashion.
I downloaded "find my phone" or "phone finder" on our respective mobiles............ Now she tracks me all over the place, and she gets the hump if there is no signal.......... Apparently yesterday, she found ne lurking in Luton............ While I was in the office in St. Helens............. It doesn't work, methinks............
A young girl stopped me in the street a couple of weeks back frantically asking me where a certain street was in Bury, when I told her she legged it off saying her I phone had been stolen and she was tracking it. I hope she caught up with the thief. Good idea.............. if it works.
Take the SIM and memory cards out, and drop the phone and battery in a tupperware full of dry rice. In a week it will have dried out enough.. to try. Normally it works.

Depends on the phone. If it's an iPhone you may not be lucky they are water sensitive. I dropped my iPhone in a bath for a second. Took it apart. Dried it all with dry rice and Silica gel for weeks. Was still ruined.
Andrew had a mutual friend from the Philippines visiting him in the UK, so he took the opportunity to sent me a UK mobile phone so that I can call him when I arrive in London. We have tested it and it works. It's a Motorola. He thinks I don't know how to change a sim card haha.
