Looking at the write up I think AXA have a point.
I know when we have taken out travel and European motorhome insurance they ask for ferry dates of travel to and from UK and countries of planned visit.
I would suspect that if I put touring Europe and strayed into a non European country the insurance would be void and likewise if I stayed over 30 days ( most vehicle policies have 30 days written in) without pre advising the policy would be void so by advising the insurers you intend to stay or use your vehicle 30 days plus in Europe your covered for a small premium increase
If they in the write up have took out a policy for the Kenya trip date specific then that’s the policy cover.
Yes the trip for Kenya started in the UK, and the policy would state the cover countries and to and from destinations. Mum should of put as start country Kenya it’s a fairly standard question

Mum actually got it right on the first policy... It was silly Daddy who messed it up on the second policy as in his mind his daughter's journey had (originated) in the UK... but obviously, in retrospect, the second journey didn't - ouch - expensive mistake.
