Just had a quick look and it looks like hardly anyone posts there anymore. I wonder if it's days are numbered?
It's been like that for more than a year, very low volume of public traffic but you have to remember they had a lot of private forums and a lot of the activity on the site was behind closed doors. I doubt it is going away soon, its running costs are not huge. To my mind the world has changed, people in western countries do not have the degree of relative wealth that they once had compared to the Philippines so there are fewer people with the resources to visit the country never mind get involved with a Filipino. And as we all know certainly in the UK it is now outrageously expensive to get married to a foreigner and attempt to bring your spouse back to this country. Personally I see forums like this serving an ever smaller audience, in the Philippines itself I think the focus of people is swinging towards China the tourist sector seems to be catering more to them than to a western audience. But saying that we have had a surprising number of new signups in the last couple of weeks that were not bots but actual real people, the spammers and hackers do appear to have gone away Rob was right when he said the war in Ukraine seems to have shut down the spam. It was a pleasure to click on two signups at a time and find that one was from Scotland and the other from the north of Luzon and I could approve both.
A Brit Filipino couple moved in just down the road. She and her daughter moved here just a couple of years ago. Their daughter was born in the Philippines. They progressed the immigration stuff through a solicitor in the U.K. It’s cost the hubby a fortune. But he can afford it. The daughter is the same age as ours and are great friends.
I think disappointingly is the conversion rate of new members on here who stick around contributing long term, I know some will come on to seek information and move on but I cannot think of any who joined roughly the same time as me 2015 and are still around. The forum seems to have a hardcore of members who have been around since early days but not many fresh faced contributors.
Ah. Thread drift. Your idea of a tight thread is a bit more stringent than most. But even you do it. Do you make your own rules up as you go? Ask Oss about thread drift? And then we should tackle spelling? Methinks you apply your own interpretation of your rules according to the person that writes the thread?

I am not "banging you to rights", John. It would be nice to keep on topic though Yes, perhaps this forum too has less traffic than before. There seemed to be a period of time when "new blood" came in and remained with useful input. Perhaps the pandemic followed with very high airline ticket prices has curtailed Brit-Fil romances. Many of us should feel lucky that our Filipina partners were already here before Covid-19 raised it's corona head. When costs to travel to the Philippines are more reasonable, we should see more posts as relationships begin or are re-kindled. Filipina roses must have the same situation.
Perhaps my idea of keeping on-topic is more stringent than most but it is not too difficult to post in the right thread or even make a new thread. Spelling.... You are usually very good at doing this correctly. I ignore one member here who was weak in this regard, but I did not put him on ignore for bad spelling
I haven't been there for a peek for eons. And to top it all, I ain't even interested in any of them. But I presume that from time to time, someone from there does pop up on our site for inspiration on how to conduct a debate with class and civility.
Did someone mention bad spelling,Arthur has returned from the other side few people from that site snuffed it, people move on in other ways, didn't penny threaten someone with violence? It served its purpose, I wonder what happened to nigel who identified as a parrot, or born at birth, a real mix of characters.
I would like to think that but fortunately that isn’t quite true. It might be something to do with the class of people that are attracted to Filipinas. Dunno. We aren’t all the same but the Philippines sure seems to attract a fair number of odd individuals from the U.K. that frequent Filipino Roses and this forum. Fil Brit couples that I have met outside the forum aren’t interested in these forums, fullstop.
