    Hi all,

    Hope everyone is well.

I was recommended to come here for advice.

My fiancee has submitted her visa application for a fiancee settlement visa and we are just waiting to hear back now.

I have been offered a new job and was hoping to accept it, but wasnt sure when it was safe to accept and move on with that going on in the background.

    Any advice on this?

    Thanks!

Take the new job, the day after we applied for the settlement visa I changed my job so you have no worries as long as you continue to meet the financial requirement.

EDIT: I changed my job after getting the FLR(M) a couple of months after my then Fiancée arrived in the UK.

Its all about meeting the financial requirement, you have no worries.

hi--and welcome to the site. so long as you met the sponsors financial requirements at the time she made the online application--i dont see a problem. if you take the job--when is the likely start date ? did your fiancee pay the extra £500 for priority service ?

    Yeh we paid for priority...

I am on a weeks notice with my current job so if I gave notice I can start the new job really soon. I didn't want to start the new job and if she did get the visa, she won't be allowed in due to change in circumstances

she should get the visa within 10 days. when does she plan to fly out ? remember she will need to do the CFO.

Yes she's booked to do her CFO next week.

So when is safe to start the new job? It'll just be a straight transition so no days off. So I will be getting income every weekday still.

Start the new job as soon as you like, all that changing jobs means is that you will have to apply for the FLR(M) under Category B (less than 6 months with current employer) assuming you used Category A on the Fiancée visa application.

I actually applied under Cat B already so they have my 12 months bank statements, etc.

Ah ok, you have no worries, the FLR(M) is just a formality after the initial entry visa, you can use the vast majority of the paperwork from the first application just updating marriage and financial documents, and paying the NHS surcharge.

Okay, so just to confirm. I am safe to leave my current job now and start a new one when I am waiting for feedback on my visa?

What if the ECO decides to call my current work and they find out that I have left?

well--she should get the visa in 10 days--so can you wait till then--just for your own peace of mind ?

Cool, and once she gets the visa.

and she flies into London the end of next month. They won't not let her in because I have changed jobs?

Sorry, if I am being super paranoid. We have spent weeks working on this visa application and I don't want to have it taken away (if given to us) because I am being trigger happy.

There is no problem whatsoever about changing jobs, by the sounds of it you will be leaving your present employer and starting straight away with your new company. Basically it is none of the UKVI business that you are changing jobs. If the UKVI contacted you or the company you are leaving then you have nothing to hide or worry about.

If you only worked for one month per year and earned £18,600 you would meet the financial requirement.

As bigmac says, wait till you receive the decision if you are worried.

    You are paranoid :)

Relax and wait for the decision, we've been there we know what you're going through :)

Haha yeh, I am really keen on this new company as well so want to get started ASAP as well.

We submitted our priority visa on Wednesday so I guess another 8 working days to wait....

You'll soon be put out of your misery, we had to wait around 50 days a few years back when there was no priority visa service.

Once you are married you can avail to the same day premium visa service for the FLR(M).

    Everything will be fine :)

Nice one Timmers. Appreciate the advice.

We will wait until she gets her visa approved. I'll hand in my notice, start my new job and then fly her over end of March :)

hi sorry to jump on a old thread but im in a similar situation, we applied for my wifes flr(m) on the 01/04/2020 and submitted docs on the 21/08/2020 via the idv ap, but it seems the company i work for may shut down in the near future because of corona, i have been on furlough now since mid april and have been offered a new job that pays more than my old job and has no sign of closing down, both jobs are above the minimum requirements and we submitted payslips and bank statements upto the day of application in April. will me changing jobs now be a problem in case they call my soon to be old employer and am no longer there, as there is no way to submit new documents now as we have submitted evrythin 5 months ago in april

So long as you meet the financial requirement I wouldn’t worry about changing jobs, unfortunately we can’t always change jobs at the precise moment that would be ideal but you have to look after your family, if the new job will be more secure you have to change. UKVI don’t often check up with employer,
I’m in the position of my employer changing because of loss of contract and being employed in same role by new employer (TUPE), UKVI have been informed of this in letter from employer and as yet no contact has been made to my employer. We submitted docs on 11th July. On our first FLRM they also never contacted my employer.
