Hi All, I have just been looking at the form to update my Wifes details for her BRP to match her new Married name Passport. On sections 6 and 7 I am unclear as to what they want, it is not clear whether they want documents such as utility bills from only applicants that have had their BRP lost or stolen? I would assume this is the case, as my Wife had to supply mountains of info to get the BRP in the first place. If I am right in my assumption then she would not need to fill in the section granting consent to verify documents? I attach the form so that you can see the question in the right context. here is a link to the document https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...c_GOV.UK_J.pdf page 21. thanks in advance. Sateev.
First of all, wait a bit because the price is coming down tomorrow and there may well be a new application form too. Yes, you need to supply proof of address documents. We've got 6 of them - bills & bank statements - ready to send. What was slightly unclear was whether or not we needed to send the marriage certificate, but will send it anyway. Better safe than sorry. The consent section is for if any of the documents are in joint names. It's to give permission from the other person to get information on those documents. It is the other person who is on the joint documents that needs to sign this.
We were all set to apply until I saw yesterday's new price list. So will wait until the new application form goes online.
Hmm, then we have a problem because apart from the Council Tax nothing is in her name. I could get her added to my utility provider but that is only 1 more as they provide Gas/Electric/Phone/Broadband. I guess I could get her put on the Water bill, and get her a Bank Account. Thanks for the reply.
Council tax may be enough anyway. I'm just sending 6 because we've got loads of stuff lying about because she's been here 4 years. It is worth getting banks, utility bills etc put into her name. You need this when you apply for visas.
Thank You, most appreciated, although I spent about an hour on the one they had yesterday! But I wont submit the application till May when we get back for the PI after visiting the relatives which will still be within 3 months from the time we received the new passport. So I will need to use the newer form, plus it will give me some time to get her name on some bills. Sateev.
I've filled out the old one too, and was just about to send it. At least it's cheaper now though, which I why I waited.
