Seems as if there is quite a problem with Dengue fever at the moment. I know there have been issues in Leyte recently as I have heard mention of a few people being infected, it is apparently now a national problem. Summary: Philippine health authorities have declared a national Dengue alert. Yes, I believe that Dengue and Chikungunya are supposedly spread by a daytime mosquito whereas Malaria is spread by a nighttime mosquito. Fine cactus in your profile picture Keith, did you grow it at home?
