My wife and I have just visited this well-stocked, well-priced and friendly shop in Scunthorpe. Whilst there, we met three Filipino customers. Ths store is run by a very friendly Chinese lady and it has a selection of Filipino foods, including dried fish. It also sells many non-food items. We bought a bottle of Soy Sauce (620ml) for £1.39p. That compares with Soy Sauce from Tesco (only 150ml) for £1.19p. The other foods seemed similarly cheap. They also have an on-line store and deliver all over the UK. Almost all of their stock is available on-line.. http://www.tradewindsorientalshop.co.uk/
Hi Hi Mr. Howerd, I bought stuffs there online, very friendly and the package arrived earlier than expected plus yeah well-priced. I bought soy sauce, tamarind powder, some dried mangoes, Filipino chips like Piattos and V-cut and some other canned goods like young jack-fruit in brine. All in all, I suggest that store to all my Kababayans (Filipino people here in UK )
we are fortunate there is a filipine speciality food shop here where we live--on the isle of wight. called in today--my wife Nida had a chat with the owner--in Tagalog--and bought spring roll wraps--soy sauce and white vinegar.
Hello Bigmac wow that's good for Ms. Nida then, she can just go there whenever she feels like cooking some Pinoy food. What does she usually cook? well unfortunately we can't find any asian/filipino grocery shops nearby so we have to buy online on Tradewinds..
